Rokerij III is near our hotel, when did you sample their version of it mate? I'm undecided whether to head straight to the hotel when we arrive around 11am and dump our bags (or maybe check in ) then hit a local place like Rokerij til we check in, or hang around the center with my lady and visit somewhere like 420 or Amnesia (or my old favourite HSB on Warmoestraat) before heading to the hotel. The appealing side of heading to the hotel and hanging around the Amstel area is that we are taking the missus wheelchair so that it's easier for us to navigate the city pedestrianally (dunno if thats a word lol). Her legs are good enough to walk short distances and climb in and out of trams, but i'm planning some long walks around Jordaan and De Pijp for her, so the chair is much better.
How difficult is it going to be making the initial tram journey from Centraal to Muntplein with her in the chair and 2 holdalls? She can board the tram no problem with one of our bags, me with the folded wheelchair and other bag. When I write it, it sounds like a LOT of hassle and that we'd be better taking a taxi from Centraal for the short journey to the hotel?
Any advice would be appreciated from all
It's been 8 months since I had it, so YMMV. I would drop my luggage at the hotel in the head to a coffeeshop. The tram ride to Muntplein shouldn't be an issue. There are two different trams in use, with the newer one's wheelchair friendly. Although it might be best to fold the chair since there is a step up to board the train. Another thing at Muntplein you get off next to the bike lane, again having to step down of the tram and back up to the sidewalk. A taxi will cost you about 10 euro for the ride. One other option is to take the Connexion shuttle from the Schiphol to a stop near or at your hotel. It'll cost you about 25E return, but that's door to door. http://www.schipholhotelshuttle.nl/site ... anguage=EN

Some excellent advice as per usual balou, thank you
The shuttle would have been a good option, but they don't stop at our hotel it seems. I'm not too worried tho, I had a look today and the 9 and 14 stop on the Rembrandtplein which is practically round the corner from the hotel. Assuming we arrive on time in that area (around 11ish) I think we will just hit Old Amsterdam as it looks one of the more easy to enter shops and is a very short distance from the hotel.
Cheers again, you're really generous with your advice to everyone in here
Strange that hotel isn't on the list, if you're alright with the trams then use them otherwise I'd ask the shuttlebus driver, put your mrs in her wheelchair, I doubt he'd say no.

I'll see how things are when we get there Boner, might just do that if the weather is crap Would be good to get to the hotel in a hassle-free way, although since we are going to be way too early to check in, i'm not sure it's worth the expense lol.
I'll let you know how we get on when I do my mini-report
I dont recall where I got it, but there was this weird, not of this world looking weed called Pure Equatorial Sativa. Not a real bud, just fat calyxes held together by thin as needle stems....never saw anything so crazy looking, and Im 47, smoking since 13. That Sativa is as good as any Ive found. Those prone to anxiety, tread with caution, this has a punch, and its not lay back and couch lock, its up, up and awaaaaaay!
I so prefer Hasj to weed, but The pure equatorial sativa, SSH and some Amnesia will also be among my purchases....now I just need to decide when to go. Anytime after April 1st....decisions decisions.
