Kratom

Post by DroolingLiver »

I'm off to the Dam soon and toying with the idea of packing some Kratom in my luggage.

It's all nice and legal, so shouldn't have any legal trouble, but I can imagine some raised eyebrows and questioning if it's discovered.

So, I thought about buying it when I'm there. Anyone know if it's readily available in the smartshops there and if so, what the quality is like? Usually the branded stuff is not the best.

It's like a very mild opiate. You drink it.

Elevates your mood, relaxes your muscles, chills you out. It's a bit like being stoned but without the inability to move! Despite chilling you out, it does have uplifting properties too, in that it will relieve tiredness.

It's mild but something to be careful with as it is addictive and if you overdo it for a long period of time, you will have withdrawal symptoms.

It also goes fantastically well with a smoke!

Oh and EDIT's stuff is ok. A quick Google search can bring up better vendors. If you want a link let me know and I'll PM it. (Not sure of the policy of linking in the forums here).

It's all good, especially as it's legal.

Cool, thanks.

The one I use is divineshaman.com

I've been ordering from them for several years now and the service is always very quick and on the rare occasion there's been a mix up with the order, they've always sorted it out quickly with no hassle.

I would advise to keep away from anything with the words enhanced or extract in them. Not only do they lose some of the overall spectrum of effects from the regular varieties, but they're also a lot stronger and will build up your tolerance much quicker.

This stuff is great fun but treat it with respect. As with a lot of legal highs, the word legal doesn't mean weak! Don't do it more than two days in a row and leave a few days in between taking it. I've gone a bit too happy in the past with it and had bad withdrawals.

I know this is a bit old, but in case someone has same idea in mind, don't waste your money buying in A'dam, you'll probably pay a way too high price. Better option is to hop in a train to Harleem and visit Maya shop. They sell many kind of ethnobotanicals, and different types of kratom as well, from the highly stimulating Maeng Da from Thailand, or excellent opium-like Balinese.

Kratom is traditionally used in Thailand for opium withdrawal and it does work great for that. Shame it's not known on a wider scale. I guess it is better to keep people hooked on buprenorphine or methadone for years (or life), than treating them in just a weeks, few months tops...

kratom is a interesting one as its both stimulating and sedating at the same time. many people compare it to opiates in its effects but i think its more in its own class. amphetamine/caffine like effects at lower doses, more sedating dreamy opiate type effects at higher doses. nausea has always been a problem for me, and unless you get a concentrate extract its not pleasant to consume.

dont think it will be too long before it is properly investigated by pharmaceutical companies as all of its active compounds are poorly understood. Its illegal in thialand but widely used by working class population who chew leaves for stimulating effect at work, this use is frowned upon although not considered to be as bad as smoking weed by thai society. My understanding is thai government are starting to properly fund research in to its role in opiate widthdrawl.

Just for the curiousity, why exactly?I mean,I know they can be addictive but since I never had that kind of problem with "opiates" -or any other "pills",I don't see the reason why not to try; it hardly can called as dangerous to health,It can give you an nice relaxed feeling and it can help with anxiety and it's legal.

There are so many of the same stories and shows about cannabis, did that change your opinion about cannabis as well?
