Work & Living in the Dam

Post by opiou »

Greetings!

I'm currently planning my migration from Australia to The Netherlands (Amsterdam) arriving on a 1 Year Working Visa in May 2011.

So far I'm searching for some information on working & accommodation in Amsterdam. I am not arriving as a skilled migrant, so I'd be happy with any work I could get. I work in a Cafe in Australia and have been for about 1 year. Would it be possible to get a job in a Cafe or a Bar easily? And if renting a room in Amsterdam would I be able to cover rent with a position like that?

I will be taking up Dutch lessons as of next week up until I depart for Amsterdam.

Last but not least, roughly what does rent set you back per month for a room in Amsterdam? (One that is on the cheaper side preferably)

Would like to thank you all in advance & hope to chat with you all further.

Peace,
Opiou
