Heya, first post here as i am planning a trip to amsterdam for me and the other half for our 2 year anniversary, was wondering if people here knew of good cheap hotles near the centre so its near by loads of cafes lol

for a nice double room id go for the one i got my brother at old quarter need to ask for room 7 if you book has a mini kitchenette and small fridge smoking allowed and its right in the heart of it. 50 euros a night (during low season). i was looking for a double for some friends top 2 were hotel 83 and the Continentaal double room deluxe (has a jacuzzi bath). or have a look through http://www.booking.com/ good luck

I'll be staying in the Eden Hotel for 3 nights from the 11th. We got a double room for a very good price on hotels.com. PM me when i'm due back if you want and i'll give you a review.

Without knowing your budget and approximately when you'll be visiting, it's hard to give you suggestions. Do you want a private of shared bath? Smoking room? Do you want a 2 star with steep stairs or a 4 star with a lift?

well i want to hopefully go from the 28th of april to 1st of may. from looking on websites (prices including flights and hotels etc) the price would be about £600 wich is fine, but obviously if i can get it cheaper then that would be great, it would be our first time there so amm unsure as to what would be good and what would not???

I see what your problem is. You are going for Queen's Day, April 30th, probably the biggest holiday in the Netherlands. Hotels will be more expensive and cheaper accommodations will be hard to find. There will hundreds of thousands people all over the city streets. If you want to experience a party, you should go. If you want a more relaxed visit, choose another weekend. It can come out cheaper if you book your flight and hotel separately. I wold have a look at http://www.booking.com http://www.easytobook.com and http://www.hotels.nl All reputable booking agencies that several members have used including myself. The hotels I have stayed in recently and enjoyed are Nh Carlton, Nh Amsterdam Centre, Hotel Pax, Bellevue Hotel and Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre. If you are a gambling man, you might want to give http://www.priceline.co.uk a try. You can bid on a four or five star hotel in the city center and stay for the price of a one or two star. I used a similiar site to priceline once (Hotwire) for a holiday in Orlando and got a great deal. If i'd known about these resources before for the Dam i'd have been up for a gamble
