Trains between Prague and Amsterdam

My friends and I are planning to combine 2 short city breaks in September,
and to save money, thought it could be cheaper to fly to Prague, spend a few days there and then catch a train over to the Dam.
Can somebody tell me if i must purchase a ticket on a website,
or whether I can just buy one on the day from a ticket machine at the station.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

I can't help much either, apart from recommending:
http://www.seat61.com/
A lot of info on rail travel there, hope it's a help....
And beware - there's a huge conference in Dam one week in September and hotel rooms can be very hard to find. Sorry I can't remember exact details but I'd make sure you can get an OK room before you book rail/plane tickets.

thanx for the link Tall Guy
just came across this site :-
www.raileurope.co.uk
(it's the same site that does 'inter-rail' - which i am hoping to do later in the year, a great way to travel Europe)
tickets are around £120 - I expect the website add's some kind of tax on aswell, all trains have transfers in Germany and looks like it takes a total of about 10 hours or so.
