first off, i'm new to the forum https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... =2&t=16609
in little over 24 hours i'll be walking away from central station with a cheshire cat grin on my face! my girlfriend and i plan to arrive on the morning of friday 11th and depart on the evening of sunday 13th.
thanks to the forum i know i'm going to be spending most of my money in grey area but apart from that the plan is fairly loose and certainly open to suggestion!
so far, this is what i've got...
friday night we plan to eat at the sea palace floating chinese as this is somewhere i have been before and was a big fan. from the comments i've seen it still seems to be good, if only a little bit on the expensive side. any other comments on cool restaurants to eat would be certainly welcome. neither of us are particularly fussy so i'm all ears for any recommendations you may have. after the meal we plan to wander around and find some bars. i'm not sure where is going to be best, but somewhere that is smoker friendly would obviously be cool and good music is desirable, too.
saturday night i've planned to go to the melkweg night club. after much consideration i decided this would probably be the most fun for both of us as there is an 80's / 90's music policy which is great for my girlfriend and suits me just fine, too.
i will certainly report back on my trip and try my best to give a review of the different products we have sampled in the hope that i can give a teeny tiny bit back to the forum!

Some of the Argentinian Steakhouses in the Dam are very nice. I'm sure someone posted recently about 1 just off Dam Square that was particularly good. Burger Bar and Wok to Walk also seem to be popular options if you like that kind of thing (i'm planning on trying both places this weekend
).
For drinkables, t'Nes looks like a great option from everything I have read, and I'll definitely be going there for a pint or 2 at some point. Needless to say, smoking is allowed. I'm sure there is a thread somewhere about bars that allow smoking, try a forum search for it.
Most importantly, have a great time. I know we will
I may see you there if you plan on going to the t&t at Amnesia on Saturday!

Ther is something quite fulfilling about a greasy heart attack in a bun when freqenting the dam IMO!! Burker King is a must for me although I'm usually partial so finer foods tradionionally!!
I think it's the munchies thats to blame
