What is the best method of long term storage of cannabis in bud form ?

It seems to me that potency appears to reduce somewhat after a couple of months of storage at room temperature.

Have any studies been done about the effectiveness of keeping cannabis in the deep freeze and how this affects potency ?

According to the site above, freezing is a no-no. The article mentions that trichomes may/will break off because they become brittle when frozen. True, although this would eventually occur regardless of storage method used. The article is not without merit however. It does give good suggestions for alternative storage.

Something else to consider but not mentioned in the article is the damage water crystals can do to bud during thaw. Something you might want to look into for yourself.

Although the longest I've stored bud was for less than a year, my method for long-term storage is placing cured bud in an air/light tight container (being mindful of some plastic and rubber materials) and placing it in the fridge. Bottom line - I remove all oxygen, light, and humidity, and store the bud a cool/cold place.

I am trying a Vacu Vin Coffee Saver,... could be worth a look.

By far the most ideal way to store weed for any short or long period of time.
