it will be interesting to watch this tread I cant recall running into a fusball table or video machines at any coffeeshop, I think its Hill Street Blues that has a pool table? The Bulldog hotel / Hostel has a pool table plus board games like chess & backgammon
PS I have a love hate relationship with the wait ... on one hand I hate waiting but on the other I love having a firm date to countdown toward

You know, I'm waiting on a trip that's less than 2 months away. It's my third. This time tho, I'm enjoying the wait. I look at it like this. For the next 2 months, I have Amsterdam to look forward to. Then, I'll have 5 days which will fly by a super sonic speed. Then, I'll have the rest of my life after the trip...never know when I'll get back!

Agree with la2019....it's better to have a confirmed trip to look forward to then to have just returned and not knowing when you'll be going back...

ok, maybe looking too specific.. any such thing as a video arcade in the dam? As I don't feel like lugging my PS3 with me.. oh, well, maybe give that thing a break and be social.. Ed, I agree, I am partial as My stash has run out, and I have to wait until tomorrow. .. LA I can only imagine how quick it will go by.. Not that i am mental or anything (LIE) but I do feel it will be quite an experience.. NO worries, No Concerns, No Work, WOW It will be like being single with no kids again. LOL . And It will be one more thing to cross off the bucket list. PEACE

Jimi and hog, you hit it on the head. This will be my 3rd trip, and aside from the obvious attractions in the dam, the absolute and utter freedom from responsibility is one of the best feelings in the world. That's not to say I won't miss my wife and daughter something fierce--but it's the knowledge that on day 2, after deciding to spend a second hour sipping wonderful belgian beers at Gollem, there will be NO call from home telling me to stop at the store...NO dishes to do...NO worries about getting home in time to get back in the car to drive the babysitter home. No conference calls to prepare for. None of the requirements of every day life. I can decide to go for hour 3, or head over to Kadinsky. Or maybe get something to eat. Or do all three. In fact, one of our nites, we're going to go to Tweede Kamer for a spell, then around the corner for a drink or 2, then back to Tweede Kamer before going to dinner at Kantjil. For no other reason other than that WE CAN!! Weirdly, that type of freedom makes life's responsibilities so much easier to deal with when returning home--even when pinning away for that 5 day blast of heaven! It's a new perspective, one in which I realize that I'm lucky enough to live a good life, even when doing so can be work. And the knowledge that every once in a while, once every couple of years, I get to go to Amsterdam for 5 days!
Wow. I can tell the trip is getting near when I get all philosophical...
FlyByNite - I'll be there 30 March through 5 April...thanks for adding me the the page!
Oh, and Jimi, I've been searching for a old-school video arcade in the dam since before my last trip in '08. No luck yet, but if you find something, please post it!
Have a great time!

Im sure coffeeshop Atlantis have a fuseball table, and Hill Street Blues on Warmoestraat have a Video game and pool table. Alot of the shops around Warmoestraat have pool tables. Club Media and Greenplace always seem to have football on the tele aswell. oh, and have a good trip
