Lazerbeam`s 3 Day Trip Feb 2011

Have problems sleeping the night before flying and only manage between 2 or 3 hours before getting up at 7am for a noon flight from Heathrow to Amsterdam.

Wake up with pure-bad heartburn having eaten half an apple pie in pre-sleep munchie mode, but enjoy the early morning walk to catch the Picadilly line. A little over three hours later I am at Sciphol.

I go to the ticket service windows to get my ticket as I always do and get my return ticket too. Never have change for the machines and prefer to interact with a human being when buying tickets. Dutch girl at the counter has short-back-and-sides with a tramlines and tattoos. She was really helpful. Makes a change to London.

I go down the escalator, passing a pilot who had put his case next to him on the escalator, so nobody could pass. Self -important prick with no considertion for others. Just like London.

Talk to an eccentric Dutch ticket guard who informs me that the 12.29 to Centraal may or may not go from both platforms adjacent to us. Im enjoying myself already.

Two Canadian ladies in their mid-forties appear apparently worse for wear from flying from Calgary, but not able to adjust to the Dutch guards laissez-faire attitude, and proceed to panic not knowing which platforrm the train will come or go from. Much huffing and puffing.

I decide to reassure them, that this is Amsterdam and things work a little differently (seasoned-pro attitude) here and they should just chill. 30 secods later the platform information board changes, and being the first spot our imminant arrival, I point out in my smugness, to the two canadian ladies, that this is our train and it won`t take long - about 20 mins - until we are in Centraal.

I help the women with their heavy cases onto the train ( I just have my north face rucksack) and soon enough we are in Centraal!! Bon Voyage ladies.

Staight to Voyager`s for just before 1pm Friday and my heartburn has gone. Happy days.

Voyagers was a new CS to me but found it so easily as it is virtually opposite the station. The dreadlocked-dude from Manchester was sound and the coffeeshop only had two other customers who were just about to leave. I got a gram of
Purple Strawberry Bliss which had nice dashings of purple on the buds and a gram of Parvati Creme for 12.50 euro each. Had a can of coke and sat down to roll up half of the Purple Bliss and had a chat with the dude about Manchester, Amsterdam and Liverpool. And weed, of course. The Strawberry Bliss was nice and spicy and didn`t make me cough.
Saw another Canadian, this time a guy from the forum who bought the King Kong Feeling envious, as soon as he left I bought 1.4 gr of King Kong for 20 euro. Really nice tight, big buds.
Suitably impressed by the no-nonsense, friendly Voyagers I head off to the 420 Cafe for some haze 2pm.

2pm
After leaving Voyagers it`s a short walk to 420. I opt for Haze 1g 13 euro on a buy and fly. Always feels like a nice-vibe in this CS but I need to get my bags to the hotel and get checked in.

I stayed at the Avenue, so was in a great location. I check in and find that I have a　double room despite having booked a single. Result. The room was large but with a very small inside -window, so no view at all. Had a bath though and i really like having a soak so that`s also a bonus.
I cover the smoke alarm and roll up some of the Haze nice. Expensive though. Have a little rest but am out again for the Grey Area at 7pm

There is no queue so I stroll straight up to the counter and choose the Casey Jones 1g 13 euro As it`s so quiet I take the chance to sit down and sample this cool little place. Although I have been to the `dam many times before, I never got the chance to visit GA as it always seems to be closed. Anyway, by now the place has filled up and there is a line to the door. I head out and find myself at Jolly Joker

Have a coffee and spark up the Haze from 420 whilst sitting up on the decking platform with a view of the old church. There are a group of 6 english youngters sitting together in silence and a couple of guys talking about how they don`t smoke. i build another for the walk and carefully negotiate the wooden staircase into the RLD and onto;

Greenplace

10pm This place is cool and the guy behind the counter seems stoned. I check out one or two weeds as per usual but go for Green Crack 1g 13 euro My notes said this had tight orangey buds with white ash after smoking. This weed was strong and probably was the stand out weed so far.

I got another can of coke, sat at the bar, then the window.

I had done a bit of munchie-shopping earlier in the day so I popped back to the conveniently located Avenue hotel to rest and eat. I rolled up some more of the haze from 420 and it gave me a strong head stoned with a nice smooth taste.
then felt the need to get some more weed so headed out again, this time to Amnesia12am Saturday
Ice Potion 1g 45 euro This stuff looked so tasty that I couldn`t resist despite the heafty price tag. The bud tender was a different guy to the one in the day and he watched me worryingly after I sat down to smoke it up. He must have thought I was going to throw a whitey.
Anyway, it`s all a bit noisy so I decide to walk the short walk back to the hotel with my joint. I get back to my room, get on the bed and take two tokes of a joint with parvati creme casey jones and ice-potion iceolator and pass out at 1am woken by my alarm at 7.30.

Day 2
After an iceolator-induced sleep, I awake from my slumber at 7am as my mobile-phone alarm goes off. I have a sneaky toke on the ice/casey jones/parvati joint from 5 hours ago, and go down to Hotel Avenue breakfast area. There is a pretty Japanese girl that I fancy talking to but resist as I am not brave enough to practice my Nihongo, so I stuff my face with the buffet-style brekkie. After stashing some bread and meat in my hat for later (I did take it out of my hat!) I pop back to my room, but am immediately induced back into sleep-mode, by the end of my joint. Darn iceolator; it does what it says on the tin!

Frustratingly, for the second time, I am knocked out by the sedative -like stuff, and don`t arise again until mid-day.
I wake up with rugby on the telly and a reminder that is is Saturday, there is sport on the telly, I am in bed, on holiday, in Amsterdam. With a slight panic that I am missing out, I quickly realise that I must head out, and stop sleeping through my holiday! So I head for a T and T at Amnesia Sport on telly can wait.
1pm Amnesia
Amnesia is ram-packed full and I fancy trying the milkshake (despite being in my thirties I still enjoy a shake. a bit strange with a joint though. in any case, I order a banana one at the bar and take the only seat available; a seat in the chilly draft by the door.
After a few minutes,I notice a few guys sat in front of the drinks-bar and think that one of them may be from the forum. Feeling a bit cut-off in the chilly draft, I venture over (float more like) and mutter `Are any of you guys from the forum? The ACD? For a T and T?` I think what I am saying must sound like a foriegn language, make my apologies for the misunderstanding and return to my perch on the stool, by the door in the draft.

Not happy, I wait for the drinks guy at the bar to be free, and politely requst for him to show me how to use the vapouriser. He was a really helpful, if slightly condescending (sp?) English guy.
After smoking a jay of the Green Crack I vaporise the rest and feel hammered. Enjoy my first go on the vape - seems healthier. Guess it must be.

Anyway,a seat becomes available in between the guys that I had approached before, and I sit down on my fourth seat in half an hour. Kinda like playing my own freaky version of rotational, musical chairs. Only slightly different in the fact that I am: A) In Amsterdam B) Smoking copious amounts of strong weed (but nowhere near the strongest weed I have ever smoked) C) The game only exists in my head.

The Dutch guy sitting next to me, whose name was Jeroen, hassles me to write or draw something in his book.

This guy looks like a crackhead Nick Nolte, playing a dutch Vietnam war veteran on smack.

I make my excuses not to partake in his art therapy session, and I continue to roll up a joint saying I`ll do something in his arty-book thang, when I feel like it.

Roll up someKing Kong not wanting to touch the ice-potion for fear of being fast asleep in a coffeeshop. I pull some stickers off my tabocco/weed box and place them in my new friend Jeroen`s book, and make a brief comment about Wales and Amsterdam or something or nothing.

My notes say that I rolled up the remnants Green Crack (how apt) with the king kong and some manala courtesy of my new drifter dutch artist/crackhead chum Jeroem. He jokingly takes my iceolator in exchange for the blim of manala he gave me, and I give him a look. He tells me to `stay cool maaan`.

I wonder how a younger less-experienced toker may have reacted - it would have thrown me some years ago, but he gave me the ice` back. As he had given me some manala, whatever the fuck, shit-hash that it was, I broke of some Parvati Creme and gave that to him kinda wishing I had never sat next to the guy. Oh well, he is a harmless hippy and nowt for me to be concerned about.

I settle again and by now it`s 2pm and we are joined by a middle-aged heavy set guy with long grey hair and a bushy-haired teenager from Clare in Ireland. I roll up a neat spliff with king kong and iceolator. I pass it to the Irish guy who pompishly informs me that he `Only smokes pure` whilst shaking his head. I say `It is! With iceolator`. he replies `ooh, we had some of that last night` as he finally accepts the joint. He passes it to the kid and tells him to `Be careful`. There are certainly some funny fuckers in the Dam today. The kid then attemts to make his own joint and jo kidding it was thinner than a lollipop stick with hardly any weed in it. i resist the temptation to pass comment.

The older guy was generous though and left me with a gram of Power Plant which left me wondering how I was going to smoke what I had. We had a laugh about an Irish autistic gut who chased a midget thinking he was a real leprechan, and then tieing him up in the shed, telling his family he had caught a real leprachen in Ireland. O h yeh, and what you get if you cross a bulldog with a shitzu?

A shitdog or bullshit.

I had also bought another gram earlier and I think it was theLSD 12/13 euro but can`t be sure as i didn`t write it down. So i ordered another shake and built another joint before going back to the hotel.
4pm
Get back to the hotel and rest up until after 7pm! shit. did it again.

Wake up gutted to have slept so long and being caught out yet again by the ice.

Immediately rush out the door for Saturday night.
