Spending 40-50 on a meal is no problem, if I can afford it I like to have 150-200 for every day. You don't have to spend it all but if you do you are going to have fun
But I have been to Amsterdam and only spent a tenner

I dont get how yall could spent 100 to 120 in one day,do you buy cocaine or sumtin?lolwhen i was there i spent about 30 to 40 tops a day!maybe caz i have low tolerance,but i still did alot of stuff with my money,curious how you spend so much in one day

It's not just about the smoking as it's everything else that adds to the money needed. Even a low tollerance smoker smoking 2-3 grams a day will spend about the €25 mark on smoke alone. If your smoking that in the coffeeshops you will at least be expected to buy drinks while you are there. A drink might cost between €1.50-€2.75?. You cant just get 1 drink and stay there a couple of hours on that 1 drink as thats taking the piss. At least 1 drink per hour I'd say. So 8-10 hours a day in a coffeeshop is another €20 in coffee or juice alone. You can add to that if your a beer drinker and go to a smoking friendly bar and have a beer at €2.75
-€6.00 with your joint. Food is expensive unless you snack and or eat on the move.

So I'd still say €75 per day is the minimum for my liking.

That sounds like a good estimate i usually work on ~100 - 150E per day.

Well if my latest ebaying comes up trumps I'll deffo be looking towards the €125-€150 per day myself. Anything left over when I get back home will be put towards a 3D pc monitor or projector

Those numbers are just about right...100e - 150e p/d, and are quite doable when you are only going for 3-4 days, even for a week. When you plan for an extended visit, say a month, that sort of per-diem can get a little out of hand....31 days @ 150e p/d = 4650e.
The only real advise that can be offered is, 'Take as much as you can....and enjoy'
