Wow this is like a flash back to when I made QWISO, same coffee filters, same jam jar and same swing top jars! If you're a brit I'm guessing you shopped at Tesco for this qwiso run...
Good job, I didn't think to use a strainer to catch most of the plant matter or to split it between two jars, so I sat and patiently watched the whole lot drip through one filter. It took forever!
Good call with the hot water bottle too, I decided to make mine during winter, outside. It took 24 hours until it stopped smelling of iso!
How solid is that ball? My QWISO turned out to be quite oily and very soft and sticky. It may just be the pics but yours looks quite solid?
Great guide!

out of interest, how much weed did you put in and how much end product did that turn into?
from the pictures it looks like you were using outdoor stuff, will that suffice?
also,

, i have to admit i very rarely look at hash so i dont know much about it. is this QWISO stuff one of these ridiculously potent butter/terminator type smokes? or is it just a conveinient way of making normal strength hash....
and while im here, what does Q W I S O stand for?
cheers.

Yes and Yes..the ball is solid enough to stay together like a piece of soft hash at room temperature. however if you picked a small bit off to drop in the joint, it can melt onto your fingers if your not quick about it..therefore i now roll it into long strands and put one or two or three down the length of the joint..like this..

god dam its good, it takes you to that next level of stone!
I think its got to do with 2 things...1, I only swirl the weed around in the iso for literally 30 seconds..i think thats why it looks like caramel as opposed to the really black stuff ive seen, i assume that has been left in the iso too long and maybe shaken a little to vigorously and its washed more than just the thc off the weed. 2, after the iso has evaporated i leave it over night or throughout the day, 10-12 hours..it really changes the structure of the end product..see the scrapped up picture on page 1.

Hi CSS, I put about half an ounce of the shrap from all the oz's ive bought over the last few months (multiple indoor strains) so thats leaf and small buds. i then had an eighth or more of Red Beard i put through the grinder and shoved in. (not good enough to smoke) Qwiso is basically a method of turning the crap we dont like to smoke into a REALLY potent product..i cant say its stronger than butter and terminator but it certainly takes you up on to that higher plane of wreckedness! Make some and see! i believe TC has answered the last bit!

Yes, but the lower the quality of your starting material, the smaller your yield will be.

Yeh with concentrates i'v read that yeild wise you dont get much anyway compared to what you put in, hence there concentrates lol! but i was thinking an ounce of sidegrade and chuck a few grams of nice indoor to spice it up?

Pretty sure most people get about 30% oil out of whatever they use so an ounce would work out to approx 8.4 grams.
If you like oil/qwiso/concentrates this thread is pure porn:
