i posted some pics in the camping site thread i´ve taken at camping zeeburg

and for the tram

we bought a 72 hours ticket last time and it costs 15 euro

you are allowed to take every gbv-tram or bus 72 hours from the point you stamp it

imo much better than the strippenkaart because you can just drive around the city and stop where you want.
or if you just want to go to the dam from the central station after a visit in a great shop, you can drive.

so if you want to stay for more than a single day it is worth to buy one of these tickets

24 hours about 7 euro
48 about 13 euro
72 definitely 15 euro...
cannot remember the shorter ones exactly

and you can buy them in every tourist office

Thats dependable on where you're stopping, how much out of the centrum you want to travel in and how long you're there for.

if you are staying within the centrum zone imo strippenkart is probably the cheapest option, maybe not when staying further afield like at zeeburg true.

If you're stopping longer than a couple of days the week long season ticket is the cheapest option, you can have them for however many zones you need as well.

i mean if camping zeeburg is your home for the days

from zeeburg are 3 trams, two towards dam or leidseplein and one towards central station

from zeeburg to the central station are two zones, and to the "inner city" with the other trams three zones
so for 7.30 euro (one strippenkaart) you are able to get to the city and back home two times

Yep I can attest to the fact there are lots of insects at the camping site Zeeburg (there are KILLER DUCKS too). In fact every camping site I have ever been to has had insects. If you leave your cabin door or window open with your lights on then yes it does look like a 'infestation' but it isn't really... I am not sure what any members of 'staff' would have been able to do at 11.30pm as the reception closes at 9pm and plenty of times I have stayed at Zeeburg the cabins are usually all full.

The staff I have met at zeeburg seem to be mostly young, laid back, and they seem to have a similar outlook on life (as myslef). They are not the most attentive, but neither have I ever found them unhelpful or rude. Unlike Camping Vliegenbos, where rude and oppressive are by laws of camping...

Its hard to find good, cheap, laid back accommodation in Amsterdam and when you find a gem you tend to hold on to it for dear life. Zeeburg is one of those gems for me. Sorry to hear oz ofskunk didn’t ‘dig’ the place in the way so many of us have… As the saying goes, you can’t please all the people all of the time…

yeah man those killer ducks are good though and seem to love my paprika crisps ! i'll be back as there are more plus points than down sides just felling particullaly angry at time of last post and i agree cheap accom is hard to find appoligies

i adored this place only bad thing was that my friends are the party people kind so evrey frikin evening we had to go to some new club and spend the night... not exactly my cup of tea... anyway the problem was that the distance it used to take to get from the campsite to the tram stop and vice versa other than that the place is great cilled out relax and the ducks ooh the laughs

The extra walk from the tram to the site can get a little dull after about the 10th time, but there are two routes, (well 4 if you count the Flevopark trams too) one of which is a bit dull (the sky route/along the bridge) or the low route past the hippy hippy camp and along the river, a beautiful and interesting walk. One I always made sure I had a pure spliff or two for. Some enterprising young person should introduce a bike shuttle service from the site to the tram stop!

Most camping ground youll find either TICKS Fleas and Sand bugs or others types.

its PART of doing CAMPING it NOT the fault of the campsite more cause of the wildlife youll find on campground. it called getting BUG SPRAY! « problem solved «and you DONT HAVE any you shouldnt be CAMPING cause it a MUST HAVE even if your camping in the CITY! «« well most hostel also you should have some kind of BUG spray!!
