As you know your stuff Boner, is it possible to grow your own weed to those high price level weeds with 2 years of learning/practicing (would be stupid to expect it on your 2nd grow)?

Everyone's learning curve is different but to grow the top shelf took me 7 crops in 3 years to get it right ( which means 1.25 grams per watt, trichome heads are cloudy and still attached, tight dense buds. *even when disaster strikes such as a growroom flood or heatwave).

Make sure to document your feeding schedule well during the first so that you have accurate data, its easy to get excited and stop writing everything down. It helps by starting with a stable strain and not something that needs constant attention.

Your first crop should be close to what's selling for 7e / gram. So, coffeeshop quality but not top shelf...

It's not stupid but you'd be very lucky to get the tightness and trichome content you seek after your 1st grow but its goung to be flavorful.

THE most important tip for any new grower:

Be patient and properly cure your buds! So often after all the time spent growing we tend to get impatient and after the cannabis is dry and smokeable we rush to recoup some costs. This is the biggest mistake amongst new growers, IMO you can take a great grow and throw it away by rushing the curing process

Three years does sound fine especially if i can get some decent smoke whilst learning. Sounds much preferrable than wasting my money all time on weed i know i could learn to do for a small investment .

You know what if you use coco and follow the feeding schedule http://growguide.info/ 100% you'll be growing top quality weed within a year, do everything right (ph, no light leaks, good temps, good genetics and such) you can pretty much grow something on par with Amsterdams weed with your first grow, just look how well ZBeebs has done with his first grow: https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 15&t=15401 - he grew in soil which I was always a big fan of until I used coco.

To be honest I wouldn't grow a sativa as my first, the extended flowering period means you're more open to making mistakes, maybe something thats 60% sativa, I'll leave the recommendations open to people who grow sativas as I'm a indica man.
