The comment was aimed at the remark about everyone here owning a shop.

Out of interest, does anyone know how often shops actually have their scales calibrated? Having worked in hydraulic / pneumatic engineering i know precision engineered digital measuring equipment can go slightly off in time. Im talking here about scales being points of a gram off not rip off extents?

I have often wondered this. When i was doing my PhD it turned out one of the balances hadn,t been serviced in >5years. At 500g it was something like 10g off the standard weight. Luckily most people had doubts over the accuracy of that particular instrument. It makes me laugh when they start trying to weight out 0.1g considering the error involved in the instrument and handler.

Shake bud just ain't commercially viable for the coffeeshops if anything the icolator ranges aren't of pure quality (they won't waste prime bud on something i.e icolator they don't sell as much of they will use the trims etc).

I've never really seen dubious weed in Dam except for end of the bag dusty stuff (which ain't dubious just don't look all that nice) which the moment I have said "ain't you got anything better?" is put away and the real stuff is pulled out

The scales i've seen out there all seemed to be manufacturer calibarated so they ain't gonna be .000011 accurate but they do the job

every cs ive been to have given buds not shake i usually get 2/3 joints out of a gram so i wouldnt care if it was .01 off , wouldnt make a difference

if a tender presented shake in a bag id hand it back and ask for a bud ...its not being ignorant and most wouldnt do it being stoned , but i think alot of tourists have the "dont rock the boat" mindset , maybe being stoned doesnt help either lol
but as a consumer ure entitled to choose what u purchase no ?

Where ever possible I will generally ask to look at the tub, point to the bud I like the look of and ask the tender to weigh it up. No shake then.

I have found in the places that sell pre bagged that you usually get a nice bud instead of shake. Katsu & Central spring to mind.

Can't see why anyone would do this to their buds.

Only total doobs would not notice, experienced smokers
(tourist or local) would quickly spot it.

Besides, each ounce of neatly trimmed bud creates a fair amount
of trim. They can flog it off cheap as gruis (along with leftovers from the tubs),
or turn it into high grade hash in a pollinator.

Which means that something that has a lower value than imported thai brickweed
gets turned into something that can be sold as the most expensive dope - so
why fuck up the buds?

File under urban myth.
Only the paranoid survive (who said that?) :?
