Thanks for all the kind words. Travelouges really helped make my trip the most enjoyable experience, so I am just trying to pay it forward. I guess I shall continue the tale when I get home from work today. Being home is such a downer!!! All I can think about is having a Burger Bar 270g with Goat Cheese and Chips!! :)

Any advice on the best way to add pictures? I'd like to include both weed and regular scenery shots but they are rather large files.

Thanks again for the support 8) Day Two's tale is very interesting.......

Hey Jonny, loving the report brotha! your enthusiasm reminds me of my first trip to Amsterdam, unsure of what to expect but knowing that whatever it is its going to be FUCKING AWESOME! On another note I saw that Boner showed you how to upload your pictures through ACD, I however prefer to use http://www.tinypic.com, very simple you just choose file and hit upload now, key thing is to click under the resize option and hit the "Message Board" (640x480) option which resizes it to what i'd consider the perfect size for the threads! Looking forward to reading the rest of your report! Cheers my friend from a smoker who's not to far away! (VT)

OK, so it looked like that worked, awesome!! That was what I had in my pocket after 5 hours in the damn. Not to mention all the gear that my buddies bought, rolled, and blazed with me.

Thanks Rasa. I used to live in Upstate NY and had a season pass to Killington for 8 years. Miss those smokey drives on Route 4 after a long day of skiing! :D

I was in Ocho Rios on January 1st 2011 :-). Was great, walked around Bob Marleys yard smoking a fat spliff :-)

Great report so far, only just started to read it :-)
Excuse me while I light my Spliff.....

Here are some shots I took on the first two days with a little Nikon CoolPix 3000. I am working on the bud pics and day #2 tonight. Takes some time to resize  :)

Monday, February 21st –My crusted-over eyes slowly break apart and sunlight fills my shrinking pupils. Sounds a lot like my opening to the introductory chapter except, wait for it……. Something is different. :? :? Ooooohhhhh, righhhhhhhhht. I’m in F’ing Amsterdam!!! :D :) :D The blissfully perfect first evening turned slowly into my first waking morning from the dream that is Amsterdam. I pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dead. I quickly looked at the night stand where I left half a haze-combo special…. Yup, still there in all it’s white ashy-ness. I roll over and feel my loves warm body next to mine and I actually stop, reflect, and then wake her up for some breakfast in bed! Then we decide to get something to eat!!   (it was our first roll in the hay since three days before we departed.)

Kate and I decide to let everyone else sleep in and we take a shower. Everyone should understand that Amsterdam is a “green” or environmentally sensitive city. So, we decided not to waste water and share. A stand up shower stall is not built for two but we managed to get somewhat clean. Freshly alleviated and hungrier than ever, I decide to roll up some of the Neville’s Haze and another cone of the Silver Bubble.

Image

Image

The fruityness of the Silver Bubble and the pure sativa high of the Neville’s is an excellent mix and the perfect high to hit the streets and find a breakfast nook. We head down Prinsengracht and find a Café serving pastries and coffee, broodjes, etc. This is our first “locals only” type of place and you could tell they knew we were travelers immediately but the woman spoke English right away and help us make our choices. A couple of espressos, a few small sweets and a ham and cheese croissant for the walk after we finished.

Over the coffee, I remind Kate that she needs to make her own purchase or her Dam virginity would not technically be broken. Plus, she needed a lighter smoke than the heavy kush we were enjoying yesterday morning. Rokerij IV is nearby I pronounce and we turn the corner and sure enough, I looked like a douche to my lady. We turn around and make the right turn and there we are.

Rokerij IV- Small shop, nice budtender. Quality of our selections turned out to be better than hoped.

Me – 1.5G White Russian 15Euro – 9/10 This strain was on my list and after my round of hazes yesterday I personally needed some indica. If you see this variety and it looks good, give it a shot.
Image

Kate – 2G Laughing Buddha 20Euro – 8/10 Nice light tingly high. Good for people into that or newer smokers.
Image

Only complaint about that store was to budtender upsold us on both purchases. He tried getting me to buy 2.5g and I told him I didn’t want that much. Kate was given a perfect 2G bud, which don’t get me wrong is fine, but don’t play games on my Euro buddy, seriously! Lesson to be learned for all rookies I suppose. Solid gear though.

We circle around the block and I think I need some hash. Actually I know I need some hash. In fact, if I don’t get some hash right now I am going to fight you…. I playfully said to Kate. “Well, I don’t want to embarrass you in front of the Dutch so let’s get my man some hash”, see quipped back.

Biba – Narrow store with bar type seating along the wall when you walk in. I ask to see a few different hashes and decide to go with:

Me – 1.5G – Super Polm 15 Euro – 8.5/10 Brownish firm hash that crumbled to a powder when kissed by the lighter.
Image

They also had a coin operated computer with internet. We decided to email our families and let them know we were alive. 1Euro for 5 minutes. Fair enough price.

Kate and I hook back up with the group at the apartment and have another smoke out as everyone bundles up for the days journey. All 6 hit the streets refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to tackle all new tackle. Dam square greats us with a chilly breeze and open views of excellence. Pictures are snapped, snacks are eaten, and we continue our strolling down Voorburgwal and eventually into Freeworld after my mates got restless. (A trend that lasted until Thursday night)

Freeworld – they had 2 Gram deals and the look on my face was apparent that this wasn’t my choice.

Spike – 2G Black Widow 20Euro – 8.5/10 This strain was on my list but hoped to pick it up from Katsu. Still a great buzz and smooth smoke.

Bee – 1G Blue Berry Haze 10Euro – 7.5/10 Bee likes the bios and blueberry. Not bad.

Jim – 2G G13 Haze 24Euro – 8.5/10 Better than Amnesia’s haze but a bit pricey for what it was.

We smoke a few bowls and I think a 2g monster cone was twisted to perfection. Time is quickly moving by so we decide to do more wandering and get lost down a variety of alleys and straats. Ultimatley, I lead us back towards our neighborhood and back to Grey Area. Teehee.

Grey Area Round 2

Bee – 1G ECSD Diesel 15Euro – Highest priced buds but grapefruit and pine hit your nose as soon as it’s lit. 9/10
1G Casey Jones 13.5Euro – 8.5/10 Exotic blend but not in my top 5. doesn’t mean I wouldn’t smoke it daily if given the opportunity.

Me – 1G Big Budda Cheese 10.5Euro – 8.5/10 Cheesey light bud, great looking
1G Kush Berry 11Euro – 9/10 Strong, fruity, crystal covered love
Image

Drifting in and out of dazes from the hazes, we all decide it’s time for an afternoon siesta at the apartment so we can get ready for the night. Kate’s girlfriend moved back home to Czech from the US. They made a plan to meet at 7pm in front of Centraal and she would oin us for a couple days of fun. Plan sounded easy enough……. But this night would turn out to be one I would want to forget. :x  :|

Tragedy strikes on Day #2 night shortly--------------------------

Wow really diggin the report mate...building the tension for the next installment...

....now... I beg and pray that you have some fullsize versions of your pictures, particularly the second one (canal view in b&w) and the grey area logo, hope to use for my laptop background so like 1200 x 900 would be awesome but the bigger the better.

thank you in advance.
