Nice reporting so far dude and some cool snaps too.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

I had the Ice from Amnesia (and a few other strains that you chose) on the 14th of last month, and each time I smoked it, it sent me to sleep. Definitely night-time gear!

Monday February 21st _ Day #2 Continued…..

Were did we leave off? Right, just got home to the rental apartment in Jordan and had been having another great day with the group. We had logged over 25KM of walking at that point and naps were in order. Kate and I plus a couple others were lounged out on the couch smoking mixes of Ice-o-Lator Amnesia with haze and Super Polm with kush. :D Sour Diesel with blond keef. Baked doesn’t even begin to describe how we all fealt. Happy and sleepy we fought off the inevitable sleep by making a few cocktails.

The wall clock read 6:30pm and we had to meet Kate’s arriving friend, Maui, at 7pm in front of Centraal. Her flight landed at 6:30pm Schiphol and with customs and finding a train, 7pm seemed reasonable. I was now a little more versed in Dutch Navigation so I lead Kate out the door after layering up and we trek out at about 6:40ish. Plenty of time to get there and meet Maui. It is a beautiful evening walk and Kate and I stop to take a few night pictures. (That turned out crappy) Sharing kisses and sneaking a few bowls of Kush Berry, my directions get us there right on time!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

We walk past the bike mountain and the taxi station. No Maui at the main entrance. “maybe she is just inside,” Kate says. We wander through the gates and don’t see her standing there. “Check the arrivals board and see if there are any delays,” I say.

We look up and it is at that moment when my stomach sank. 8:34pm. How the fuck did this happen?????????? I looked at the clock when we left, we b-lined it right here with no stops or delays. How did we lose an hour and a half of our lives????????????? :x :? (We found out the next morning that the clock had a dying battery and was 1.5 hours SLOW)

I ask a passer by what time it is. French, no help with the language. I ask the next person, French…. And quite pissed off that I was bothering him.  I am starting to loss it but take a deep breath. :| Confirmation of the time was made and look of panic on Kate’s face told me that this was going to get messy. I reassure her that everything will be ok and we will find her. We split up and scan the entire building. Kate says the back up plan was to meet on the hour, every hour at Centraal if we missed each other. So, “It’s almost 9 o’clock, baby. Don’t worry. We will find her.” Kate smiled and was put at ease for 5 seconds or so.

9PM comes and no Maui. Pure and utter upset-ness grabs hold of Kate and threatens her sanity. We start to comb ever inch of the station, the surrounding areas outside, and eventually, aimlessly, around the near straats.

It was at this moment where Kate and I begin the makings of our first fight as a couple. “What is Maui’s phone number, baby? Our phones won’t work but we can find a phone and call her right now.” “I didn’t bring her phone number,” was Kate’s reply. My irish red blood starts to boil but I suppress the urge to freak out. “Well, can we call your roommate or a friend who has her number?” “Nobody else knows her number and my phone is locked away, key in my pocket,” She says.

I want to cry at this point, literally, not figuratively.  My mates are probably waiting on our return, thus fucking up their night, is the first thing I think of. The second, more selfish thing , that this is ruining my first awake and excited night in Amsterdam out on the town.

10pm, still no Maui. Now I am getting worried that she either missed her plane or is in trouble because WTF, I mean, WTF~!!!!!!! My phone is not a GSM phone but does have WiFi. I suggest, gruffly, that we walk to the nearest McDonalds and utilize their wifi. No emails had been received in either of our boxes.

11PM No Maui. Anger. Anger. Anger is all that is pulsing through my veins. My amazing vacation is spiraling out of control. I am super pissed off at my love and this is threatening to drive a wedge between us for the remainder of the holiday. This was the only thing I didn’t plan first hand and it had gone horribly wrong. We could of just had fun but a friend was missing in a foreign country and it was bumming me the fuck out. Kate was just a mess of worry, fear, anger at me for some reason, and sadness. We walk down to Mc’Ds again to try the internet. Guess what….. She emailed Kate from a local place and left her phone number. AWESOME!!!!! I know where that is I say and lead us the the internet café where she is.

As we approach the café, I remember feeling like the nights about to get better. We make a right, a left and, CLOSED! The café is now closed!!!!!   The email came in at 10:30 and the place closed at 11pm. What fucking deed had I done improperly in a past life that was causing the epic dose of punishment thrust upon me??? (I might have said that out loud) But, we DO have her phone number now. After a 10 minute walk and finding two more closed phone shops, two pay phones with ripped off hand-sets, I notice a familiar sign.

420 – Yes, at least a quick roll of some Neville’s might sooth my broken heart.

Me – 1G Nev Haze
1G 420 Haze 12 Euro

A cone was twisted and I told my sob story to the young budtendress. She obviously felt bad for us and offered her cell phone. “You are an angel,” I say fighting back the defeated tone that had manifested from my mouth. We dial Maui and she is freaking out on the phone to Kate. Where were you guys, Ive been so worried, I had to check into a strange hostile…… blah blah blah blah is what It f’ing sounded like to me at this point.

The kicker of it all is this should have ended it, we would now go meet at the station. We all find each other at 12 MIDNIGHT and half-heartedly laugh about the troubles we had. Maui then says, “Well, since I have paid for the hostile and since it’s late and I didn’t bring my bag, I will just meet you both tomorrow morning.” I want to punch them both in their baby-makers,  . We say our goodbyes and Kate and I grab a cab back to the apartment. Not a single word is spoken in the cab and only a few words were shared for the rest of the night.

I didn’t realize that when paying for the cab, I dropped my lighter. So, when we got inside and all I wanted to do was get high, NO LIGHTER. No matches, no nothing.  At this point, I might have shed a real tear. I put my shoes back on and go looking for flame. Everything in Jordan is closed, no lighters to be had. I stumble past an Indian Store with a hooka in the window. As I walk in he is walking out. “Sorry my friend, closed for the night.” “Please sir, you have no idea how bad this night went. I will do anything for a lighter or matches right now!! PLEASE!!!!!!!” He laughs, reaches into his pocket and pulls out his, lights up a smoke and says, Take mine, friend!

I walk back to the apartment and all of my mates had now arrived back, full of questions and three-sheets-to-the-wind. (I am so jealous that they know just to leave it/me alone on this topic until a later date.) They had went out to a few local bars and made the most of the night which I was relieved about. They were actually mad at me too at first because they thought I had ditched them and just went out with Kate and Maui. A smoke out and up to bed where Kate was “Sleeping.”

To wrap up this sad tale, the next morning brings a cold exchange between Kate and I. She explains that I made the night worse and I reminded her that it was her shyte plan that put us in that situation. Neither willing to give an inch, I do what all good men should do, and apologize for what.... I have no idea, but it helped diffuse the situation. I asked if we could forget about that night forever and focus on how hot the make-up-sex would be later in the day  She eats it up since we ARE on holiday and the bad vibes seem to dissipate to an end. Hug kiss and never speak of it again! :!:

(Day #3 to follow with a much better vibe, result, and extensive weed smoking! I was going to leave this part of the story out but I figured truth is what it is.)

....now... I beg and pray that you have some fullsize versions of your pictures, particularly the second one (canal view in b&w) and the grey area logo, hope to use for my laptop background so like 1200 x 900 would be awesome but the bigger the better.

thank you in advance.
Hey buddy

Here is the full size B&W shot you asked for. I am having a hard time finding the Grey Area shot at the moment for some reason but it will turn up.

Bloody hell, just goes to show dont let the women make the arrangements as if it goes wrong us guys always get the blame. Far better to let us guys take control, sort the arrangements properly as they will work out far better. But FFS, did'nt have her number to hand when you got the station!!!.

Glad it got sorted in the end and looking forwards to the next part.

Tuesday – February 22nd, 2011 – DAY #3

Kate and Maui now together again and the nonsense of the evening behind the three of us, I tell the girls to go get some breakfast on me and catch up. This served a dual purpose: #1 Letting the girls make up for some lost time without me interrupting. #2 It left me alone to put a few miles on my shoes and get this day started properly. 8)

The remainder of the group was either still sleeping or nursing their hangovers. I had no time for any of that considering it was already 10am after taking a needed hot shower and smoking a cone of Laughing Buddha mixed with Silver Bubble. (9/10 doctors recommend starting every day this way after a bad night.)

After countless evenings of research on ACD about “local” CS’s in my neighborhood, there seemed to be one universal stop that everyone agreed should be made. And after a short walk and some refreshing morning Dutch air, I walked into:

Paradox – A small shop and obviously something of a locals place because of its size and off the path location, but I was greeted warmly and felt one million times better than I had just 12 hours earlier.

Me – 1G Chocolope 12Euro – 10/10 – Awesome strain, perfectly manicured, excellent flavor, smoke… you name it.

1G Super Silver Haze 12Euro – 9/10 One of the better haze varieties I smoked.
1G Cheese 12Euro - 9.5/10 Dank musty smell, in a really good way. Perfectly dried too.

And 2 Spacecakes which I can confirm ARE the BEST in AMSTERDAM.
Image

I smoked some of the Choco and then rolled the SS Haze for the walk back to the apartment. The shop wasn’t quite what I expected but, awesome gear, best spacecakes, and a good atmosphere. We make it back here a few times.

Feet securely underneath me after I take a farewell vape from the Volcano  I make it back to the apartment after grabbing a ham and cheese pastry and a meat pastry from a local bakery. (I prefer savory in the morning and these were awesome at 1.25Euro each. Filling, fresh baked and super tasty.) Most of my crew up and showered and the girls back after a nice breakfast of their own, we make a plan to head to the Rijksmuseum to get some culture in us along with the days purchases. Damn past 1pm already, time F’ing flies in Amsterdam.

Our group now 7, map in pocket, grinder, skins, the awesome 10Euro bowl I purchased, a few bags sorted on the table by my mates and several pre-rolled’s behind ears, we head out. Prinsengracht will get us there and the sun is right in our faces so the walk is enjoyable. We definitely looked like a big group of tourists stopping to take pictures and staring up at the gables. But, so what! That’s part of the reason to go to Amsterdam. Stop, soak in the local areas. See the history of the buildings, the canals, the storefronts and local shops. I digress, we need a place to sit, smoke, grab a drink and get high before the museum.

Easy Times – I don’t remember much about this shop. To be honest, I had eaten one of the spacecakes from Paradox and smoked about three grams already that morning!

Me – 2G Blue Cheese – 12Euro? – 10/10 I loved this purchase. Stinky, bluey, tasty. It was on my list and it was a nice evening smoke for the rest of my trip with the White Russian being my other nighttime favorite.

Jim – 1G G13 Haze ?Euro – Looked the best out of the three he was smelling.

We sat and ordered a few coffees, cokes. Made short work of the business we rolled earlier at the apartment and were now ready to see some old paint! 8)

Rijksmuseum – 12.50Euro per person

I wish, like every other person on this forum, that there was more to see given the renovations. But I think the 12 euro was more than money well spent. Ha, I mean, how many bad purchases have we all made. Might as well get a view of what very few people in the world get to experience. 8) Great time, we spent about 1.5-2 hours and then grabbed a coffee in the café.

On the walk home we smoke the last pre rolled, some Casey Jones from Grey Area... Which then of course sparked the debate on who wanted to go?? Half went back to the apartment to shower and get ready for the night and the rest of us troopers moved on.

Grey Area –

Spike – 2G Grey Berry 8Euro
1G Blond Keef 20Euro

Bee – 1G East Coast Sour Diesel - (There special hand written on the menu) 13E 9/10

Me – 1G Silver Bubble
1G Recon

The shop was empty enough so we used the bar against the wall and my bright green plastic grinder to get our bubble on. Bee says that the ECSD is the best he tried up to that point, I still really enjoy the SB and Recon, Spike keeps sprinkling keef on everything like its necessary….. it really wasn’t but who was complaining. Not I, sir, not I.

The walk home is getting dark but the temperature is ok, or maybe we were just all toasted. :?: Jim and Spike want spacecakes and I tell them "I know a guy." They both look at me like I’m a jackoff but I just say, “Do you want the best spacecakes or do you want to F-yourselves?” :!: “Um, spacecakes if those are my two options.” Sorted. :)

Paradox

Spike & Jim – 4 spacecakes. (Yeah, 4. They go “all-in”) 6Euro each

Me – 1G Chocolope 12Euro – Didn’t think I would be back so soon, but I’ll take another please sir. And not to be outdone by these two maniacs:

1 Spacecake as well.

By the time we get back to the apartment, the girls are looking good! I mean, properly ready to get after it. So we brush up and make some cocktails. Spike’s birthday is technically at midnight but our plan is to celebrate tomorrow and tomorrow night and he wants to eat some fungus, I wish him all the best with that. Drinks, shots of tequila and jaeger are fired back, and we leave to go wander through the streets looking for more libations and shrubbery.

The girls demanded that we stop getting them too high and feed them some drinks! Yes ma’am!! We find a bar called the Old Sailor in or near the Red Light District. The girls were drunk and high enough that they actually enjoyed walking past the windows and smiling at the girls, judging and rating them more fiercely than the guys were. More shots more beers, and Spike sneaking out to get some pre-rolled hash joints.

Not Sure Where He Went – (Basement maybe?)

Spike – 2Pure White Widow 5Euro Each
2Mixed Cream Hash 5Euro Each

My gut wanted to be angry at him for buying the junk but I was way to drunk and happy at that point to care. The music was a mix of pub songs and English tunes. Happy atmosphere, 1.75Euro glasses of local brew. Stepped outside to do some business several times and took in the red lights more on our walk home.

My hand gets tugged back as the group walks ahead. “In a better mood?”, Kate asks. I look at her lovingly and slur, “You have no idea how much I love the beer in this country.” I swear I don’t remember saying that but it was written in my notebook when I woke up the next morning. I didn’t write it, Kate had to explain why she underlined it three times. Good thing she thought it was cute.

We all get home, it felt like home at this point and that’s a real good thing. More drinks (bad idea) more mixes of everything:

Image
That was the one that finally took the wind out of my sails. Ice, keef, and kush. :P  :o

Goodnight Amsterdam.

(Day 4 this weekend at some point. Hope you’re enjoying.)
