For a small bar, the setup is actually quite nice. I am a freak about the sound quality, and was not hopeful when my mate booked the Minibar, but it sounds quite good in the back (where the DJ booth is) and middle area. Since the bar is a very long and narrow room (made more narrow by the line of Mini-bars along the side), sound quality is difficult. The sound is not too good right by the front door though, its just too far away from the main speakers.

Trance, ha...we all have different tastes I would say trance is pretty dead in the Netherlands these days, but I don't seek it out so I am could be way off. Trance to me is about big parties with one-off famous DJs from out of town, and that is not what we are trying to accomplish. Rather, trying to throw smaller parties with consistent sound in a nice, friendly, welcoming environment, in order to build a following of local party people (tourists are nice, but they never come back) and with local DJ and producers playing.

The main goal of these parties are to fun and (most importantly) to supporting the local music and art scene here. This little party is just a first step as we (hopefully) build a good reputation, and learn about how to do this in a bigger way in the future.

Again, I really appreciate the support of all my friends here in Amsterdam, it means a lot!

& cisco i was speaking of the people i know in all respects man,Yea we all do prefer it! ie people whos been into all techno/danco & even house for like 20+ years now,Even when the raves where illegal! personaly ive been in & out of it myself over the years as my drug days are long long gone,What keeps my connected is decent music & the memories! not the s**t thats about just now ie justin beiber/& the x factor mob.
