My favorite 3 Amsterdam coffeeshops (in order):

1. the Greenhouse Centrum

really can't beat the location. cozy rustic bar across the street if you want a beer afterwards and Belgium frites a block away if you're hungry.

2. the Rokerij

one of the first coffeeshops i went to. love the dark decor, the vibe and the branding. there are four of them but I like them all.

3. Siberie

I'm sure this coffeeshop is not on most of your lists, but there is something about it that I like. it is close to the centraal station and has a little bit of a local vibe. quiet and chill.

I had my birthday party at Siberie in Sept 2011 - very cool shop. It was right down the street from our apt so we were in there daily.

I honestly can't believe central has so few votes! So close to the station and such a big selection of hash/bud I make it my first stop every visit!

This is a good thread and despite it being here for what seems like ages it still makes a fantastic read, its kind of like a condensed read of all the many individual coffeeshop reviews and makes a good reference for planning a trip.

Although its probably not much fun for the guy who has to add up all the votes I think it would be a good idea to renew this thread annualy, Why ?, because things change--Basjoes is now under new ownership and newer shops like Voyagers aere not in the poll from the start and therefore Voyagers and others are not represented. Some shops may be good one year and not so good the next and vice versa. Excellent thread but to be relevant it needs to be renewed now and then to reflect changes.

Just a thought.

You can change your vote as much as you want so peoples top 3 will change with time, if I never went back my current top 3 would still be the same in 10 years time so there isn't any need to update it (imo).

Ok Boner never realised that, fair enough, not that I want to change my vote just now anyway--but things change and its good to know we can do that.

Should make this a yearly vote as to your fave 3 or 5 or 10 or 1 or whatever number then it all leads up to 420 gathering where they vote for top 3 and the winner hosts the 420 party.

or something like that

My preferences have changed - now the list reads Grey Area, Voyagers, Siberie.

I don't like to sit at Grey Area (even on the rare occasions there would be room inside), but the weed is so good I go back every trip. Voyagers is slightly better for chilling at, though still far from my favourite in terms of coffeeshop interiors. The bud is stellar, though, so they rank highly on my list as well. Siberie is one of my favourite shops to smoke in, with a very relaxed vibe and good music, and the smoke is usually top quality (and very affordable!).

Guys I will have to agree with Bilbo Baggins (and sorry, for disagree in part with Boner).

Simply because even if it's possible to user make a new vote, people could vote once and them "forget" - or simply not care about - making a new vote after he/she did once. (Specially if he likes weed, the chances of forgetting are huge hehe).

Jokes apart, I think it would be more fair and TRUTH if the poll was updated on each 2 months.... As I can see, people's likes changes a lot when CS is the issue.

As well mentioned above, Basjoe is not the same. It was on the top of my Wishlist, now it still there but not on top.

Club Media, Voyagers, Hill Blue Street weren't in users Top 5... Now if they aren't, they are at least Top 10 as I can see.

Well, thats my opinion I think we could discuss more about this to try to reach the common sense :)
