First time in Amsterdam - Which shop nearby?

Post by killershroom »

Hi folks,

Visiting Amsterdam for the first time later this month. I'll be staying at Hotel Vijaya. It has been about 10 years since I've actually sit down and had a smoke. Even then it was in the back of some building or alley while skipping school! I'll be arriving mid afternoon and want to try something in a shop that is convenient to my location, but still respected by the experts here. Any suggestions? Also, any specific type to go after? How much does it usually take to get a good high going on these days? Any help would be appreciated! I've got just about 3 days to spend in this city to wrap up the end of my short trip through Europe.

welcome to the forum

my suggestion is to go to basjoe and start with a gram of jamaican or orange bud ... if you are still good with that try something else on the menu ... tell the budtender what you have told us and ask for his advice

basjoe is a pleasant cafe-style coffeeshop with excellent smoke and coffee and atmosphere

also i just want to double-check that you have read the document How not to get hit by a bike from the excellent S G Collins website recommended by FlyByNite

if you have already read the document, then thanks, but if not, then please please read before you arrive to ensure your safety in the crazy amsterdam traffic, and thanks

have a great trip ...

You have been posted on the March Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
T&Ts on he 18th and 20th.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=58496

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Ended up just wandering the city when I got in today. I wound up at Hill Street Blues. 9.50 for white widow and I sit here typing this thanking god that I found my way back to my safety spot, the hotel. I took 4 hits off the little pipe I bought over a 10 minute period of time, not even hard. I became so paranoid! My high needs to go away for an hour so I can go get some food. I'm pretty sure I walked back with one leg turned into Jello, wobbling all over the place.

Get some food down you, get a drink, have a sit down and calm down. Should all be good.

Some tips here on how to come down if you need em

http://boards.cannabis.com/cannabis-com ... -down.html

most aren't that helpful but it'll give you something to do while you come down

Really was a great day, but now I'm down. Where should I go to smoke without buying more? I've still got plenty left over from this gram and my hotel doesn't allow smoking.

i would suggest going to basjoe

they don't mind you smoking your own, but just buy a coffee (they have good coffee) or another drink

basjoe is a peaceful place with a good vibe imho ... if you do need something else, try just a gram of their jack herrer or the orange bud, both are mild smokes (and maybe not as whammo as the white widow was)
