4 days in the Dam

Post by vivalamata »

Day 1 (still recovering)
So…pulled into Central Station at 9am. Early start. Well, actually I took my time getting to it. Hung out in my room for a while before moving on to Barneys in the centrum.
Barneys- They were out of many things but very cool Budtender was very honest about what was good versus not. He was down to the shwag on Dr Grinspoon. Also low and not great Blue Cheese, which is what I had coming looking for. Oh well. It has been nearly a year since I smoked so my resistance is way down.

Tangerine Dream smelled wonderful. Got a gram. Very light high. Walked around without a problem but just kind of enjoying Amsterdam, pretty mellow high to me. 7/10 perhaps. Good taste…not quite as nice as the smell but pretty good.

Went to Barney's Lounge. Gave in and got a gram of Utopia Haze. Very up very clean. I did two vape bags and felt like I might pull a whitey. Bad scene for a while there. Went to see Rango. Clearly this is a movie made for the seriously high. I would urge you to smoke some visual weed (Utopia Haze) and go see this movie. Hilarious.

Very cool BT gave me a little lesson on hashes and I got a gram of Manali Cream. This may be put in a joint of Chiesel and serve as my night time joint tonight. I woke up wrecked from Space Cake last night (see below)

Stopped by Dampkring and got a gram of Chiesel. Haven’t tried it yet. Also got something else.

Stopped at Voyagers to get some of the OG18 Kush. No luck. All out with not much hope of getting more. Also out of Vanilla Kush. Got some Shoreline- much more stoney than the Utopia Haze. Pretty good for what it is, yet I think I would only give it a 6/10. Actually after smoking some of the Shoreline I switched back to the Haze and it was able to cut through the stone, which I think says good things about the Haze. Also got some LA Confidential. Haven’t tried it yet. Also got some King Kong…from here? Why didn’t I take notes. Everything is a bit of a blur now.

Thought I would assure myself a good night sleep so ended the night with a Space Cake from Homegrown Fantasy. Not so much. Didn’t pass out in the way I had been anticipating. My night cap tonight will definitely be a fat joint of LA Confidential or Chiesel. I don’t think I like space cake. It never seems to do anything very interesting for me.

On a sort of related topic......has anyone ever read Michael Pollan’s chapter on weed in the book Botany of Desire? Great read.

cheers, good report so far! dont get down on yourself about the notes, sometimes you just have to give into your inhibitions in the Dam and go with the high and let the haziness take you. Rango was fucking awesome I agree! didnt see it stoned but I loved it sober so that says enough about it as a movie for being stoned! I will be there on wednesday so the more weed reviews the better!

Utopia Haze from Barneys' was quite good again today. Also King Kong from Voyagers is really fun for walking around. Their LA Confidential is also quite nice. :D :D :D

Day 2-
That space cake last night has left me in a fog.

I roll over to Barneys. I know…I know Barneys. I know that their gear is expensive but I find it more consistent than other places. Plus all of their BTs have always been very very nice.

Alright time to cut this fog…or at least try. The BT at Voyagers convinced me to try this King Kong. I think it is actually King Kong Kush. First vape bag does nothing to cut the fog. Of course I may just be stupid trying to cut fog with a 60% indica. More vape. Ahhhh…second bag of King Kong is starting to cut through. Oh yeah…here we go. All of a sudden Biathlon seems incredibly interesting instead of completely lame. I love weed. The mix of music is perfect right now, mostly rap and hip hop. Hmmm…now I totally understand the obsession with Snoop Dog. Everyone be high. Cool. Now two more bags of the Utopia Haze to totally put me right.

Off to get something to eat. Falafel and frites. Man, even wasted the food in Amsterdam is NOT good. It has by far the worst food of any place that I regularly travel to…oh well…not here for the food. Well their sweets are good.

Wander around appreciating just how beautiful it is here. I recently told someone that I would still want to come here even if they didn’t sell weed. I am still trying to figure out how true that is. The city IS beautiful, but it is so much more beautiful when high.

Over to the Cannabis College to try a vape bag. King Kong. I definitely like this weed for walking around. Perhaps just a little stoney but I can still walk around without too much problem. Go back to my room after wandering for a bit to chill.

Last walk around before hitting the bed early tonight. Last smoke of the day is LA Confidential mixed with Manali Cream. Ooooo spicey. Now I totally get the mouth feeling a bit numb. Wander around looking at everything in the Red Light District until I wander back home for the soundest sleep I have had in a long time. I am hoping to take a canal cruise completely baked tomorrow.

i can't do notes either when i'm smoking ... i just go with the flow ... only afterwards do i write anything down and then, as you say, everything has become a bit of a blur ... i don't quite understand how people can smoke and take loads of notes at the same time, they are amazing imo

thanks for the reporting
