Amsterdam hotelboat anyone stayed here?
Hi there me and my girlfriend booked our flights to amsterdam and then started the task of looking for accomodation when we came across this as there wasn't much availability on our budget http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetail ... rdam/34529 has anyone ever stayed here before? if so whats it like? not expecting the hilton or anything lol
Re: Amsterdam hotelboat anyone stayed here?
hi
some friends of ours stayed there and it was fine, quite nice actually they said
but since then it has moved location and its not really a good location, you have to catch a shuttle bus into dam i believe,
google it and see if its too far out
supposed to be cheap and cheerful from what i hear though, the location always put me off especially now its moved,
you can get hotels for about the same price i reckon, let me know if i can help ?
enjoy.... wherever you stay !!

April & May are really busy in Amsterdam with it being Tulip season. Whatever you decide I would book straight away. Have you looked at http://www.booking.com or http://www.easytobook.com ? It also looks like you're there for 4/20. I'm sure the other members have booked up all the good cheap accommodations
Peace,

Hey dude, is it the Botel? On NDSM Wharf?
I stayed there in Feb, it's pretty good for the price. Nice and clean, TV in the room and enough space in the room too.
The location isn't at all bad, it has ferries that run from the North side of the station, if I remember rightly it's every 15 mins or half an hour. That goes until midnight and then you would have to get another ferry to the other side of the Ij, then get on a hotel run shuttle bus back to the hotel. (All of these are free.)
I heard people moaning about the ferry when waiting for one back to the hotel but to be honest I didn't mind. Just have a pre-rolled joint ready to kill the waiting time. If the ferry comes when you are halfway done just get on and stay outside and keep puffing away. I really enjoyed the ferry rides, added something to the trip (for me anyway).
If you have any more questions about it give me a shout. Stayed there twice now and would be happy to go again.
Hope this helps.

hi mate
not sure about the location as i'm new to amsterdam from looking at the map and directions it seems pretty close to the centre and none of the reviews mention a ferry (if thats what needs to be done then so be it lol)
the adress of the boat is:-Postbus 16645, Oosterdok, steiger 3, (if that helps lol)
here's a link to the location too http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetail ... directions

They're confusing it with the botel (which is now in north Amsterdam), the one you're on about is only a short walk to the centrum and looks pretty nice to me.

This is the boat we booked for our trip this time. It's 850 for the week including a 200 Euro deposit. The name is a bit tacky, but it looks good to chill on.
