You should manage not too badly on 700, if you watch the pennies the pounds will look after themselves, dont go for the most expensive items on the menu, many of the older strains are still amongst the best smokes you can get, you can get white widow ( A quality smoke ) for 35E for 5g in the Greenplace, Rokerij do Laughing Buddha at 8 or 9---and some of the so called lesser hashes are in fact top quality---super maroc from rookies at 11E was real quality.

As for drinks, if you are buying weed just ask for water and they will usually oblige if you have just bought some smoke--anyway IMO sitting in coffeeshops can be a bit boring, some of the music is rubbish and the guy above who suggested buying cans of coke etc and then setting up shop in the Vondelpark or otherwise reasonably secluded area has the right idea-----------------or the best activity there is in Amsterdam, get stoned, put on MP3 phones with your sounds--and just toddle about walking up the canals, tking your time, amazing how chilled and relaxed you get when you are just wandering about for no apparent reason and not in a hurry to get anywhere

My Amsterdam trip just last week set me back £420 for flight and hotel and £400 spending

If I were to do a trip with the precise intention of saving as much as was neccessary, I seriously estimate I could be quite happy doing the lot --Flight, room, weed , food for £600 for a Fri-Mon trip---cheaper if it was a through the week jaunt---good luck mate, just take it easy---dont rush to spend --chill out

Thats sure more than enough bad luck for any person in such a short period. Remember Hill Street Blues have 2 places and I think they both have pretty much the same prices on drinks, the 1 on Warmoerstraat has a great view (assuming you've not been there) looking out the back. Quite trippy if your smoking the right gear as your about 1foot away from the water if your stood looking out of the open doors over the water.

@Bilbo Baggins, very informative reply cheers for that my man...I'm currently in the process of making my 'amsterdam music playlist' :) nothing...and I repeat nothing is better then a stoned stroll through the different canals...fingers crossed that the weather stays nice!!

@DaveJ that view from Hill St Blues sounds excellent I'll be sure to check it out! thanks for the info :)
