Agree Dave and Germany's economy is steaming ahead, but they and France and paying a high cost for all these rescue plans. Maybe they will let the euro slide to a more realistic level to help their growth, or the money men will do it for them. But I aint holding my breath.

Strange, mid way through the trading day thought I'd check the rate to note the rate of exchange is getting worse and not better like I expected. Post Office website rate is currently €1.1005!.

So easy to see how traders can lose millions at a single buy or sell on the currency markets. I'd be highly puzzled if things dont turn the other way by a cent or 2 by the end of tomorrow after the troubled news for the Euro last week.

I went to my Western Union office today to pick up a transfer from a friend. It was 100USD and the woman behind the desk gave me 100GBP I just shoved it in my pocket and walked out as quickly as I could. I thought for a second, "Wow nice exchange rate"

It would be nice to see it rise somewhere between .74-.76 :D range instead of the current .69 to the Euro.... but who cares, I'm on vacation.

Nice one TP. Normally I would say you should have told the clerk the mistake. But as it is a bank, what the fuck. Look what they have done to us all. We may be paying for their greed for years to come. And they continue to take the piss. Fill ya boots mate. The Brits are clapping

A very slight swing in favour of the £ as the rate vis the Post Office is currently €1.1012. If it does'nt drop below the €1.10 mark then I think I'll hold onto changing and take everything and change when I get there next week in the hope that the rate will have more likely improved be then than it might this week.
