Annual hash hunt - conclusions

Post by pipesmoker »

A short recap of some days (30/3 - 3/4) in Amsterdam.

Arrived around 5 pm to Amsterdam and checked in at Rookies Hotel. A short walk to Dophins and a first smoke for the road. I had intensions of collecting some hash today so I needed a good start on the walk. The prerolled White Dolphin was ok, but not especially strong. Had not been smoking for 2 months so I expected maybe some more effect.

My walk started to Damkring to get some Malaki hash, but I was too late. They were sold out and so was Damkring 2. It's a pity I did not had the chance to taste it. I walked on and came to Coffeeshop Magic. Bought a gram of their Gardella for 11€. It was a good smoke but nothing extra. Taste a bit earthy and lemon or maybe grape fruit.

Off to the next, Paradox. Had plannes for their turkish and chocolata hashes. No Chocolata but 0.7 of the Turkish for 5 euro and I think a gram of the Super Silver Haze for 12€. A good morning hash, not to strong and just gives you a buzz, but you won't loose your way because of it. I used the SSH for a joint in between the different hashes and it worked fine.

Not to far to walk to Grey Area and not crowded at all. Time was about 7 pm and went directly to the desk and ordered a gram of the Golden Soles. I got it for 12.50 if I remember it right. A strong good uplifting hash. Can be recommended. The best of my purchases this trip.

After some food I got back to the hotel and a good smokeout session with some movies.

Next morning It poured down. I had something to smoke and back in bed again. NIIIICE! I started with the turkish and kept me going on the gardella and eventually it stopped raining. Went to Bluebird as I always do and this time I wanted the Dhaula Giri but it was not on the menue so I got the Parvati pollen instead. I smoked this hash on several occasions but can't really remember any specific effect of it, or is loss of memory the effect. Can't remember that either. Stoned I guess. :o

Friday included a trip to DeGraal. Really wanted to taste the Malana cream and their Kashmir. None of it was available, only some of the cheaper maroccan hashes and the female budtender recomended their Gardella, but I already had Gardella in my pocket even if it looked quite different. The Gardella from Magic looked very much like a traditional maroccan hash, but this one from DeGraal looked more like nepal, softer and darker. Anyway I did not buy, but continued to Katsu. Here I bought the Nepal Annapurna Pollen (0,7g for 10€), a dark hash that had a stoney effect on me. It became my 'go to sleep' hash. Good though.

Next day I bought some Kierewiet recommended to me by davex4 at Coffeeshop Central. A very good price 1.8 g for 12.50. Gave me a clear high and not too heavy. A nice smoke before you go into shiphool. You will still have a decent chance to find your gate.

Some nice days in Amsterdam. Top smoke was Golden Soles from Grey Area.

Peace, love and sunshine

Nice report there Pipesmoker on the various strains you tried. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the Kierewiet - I think that, along with a whole cocktail of stuff, was responsible for my 'man in the mirror' experience! Have now got Golden Soles on my list for the next visit in a few weeks. Cheers mate, and hope the post Amsterdam blues will fly by :)
