Day 4 - April 21st



Today it's boating time so I'm off to Voyagers where everybody already is. We have to divide ourselves in two groups, one leaving a few hours later. I get in the second group and goes of to get some lunch. Not having suceeded in that I get back to find no one left. Where did everyone go? Has the second trip already started? I stay for a while while resting and smoking. Soon people start to show up again and some time later we are off. My feet are making me nervous about climbing down to the boat (thanks for not making fun of me guys!) but it was easier than I thought. I'm not that unfamiliar with boats (living in a city made up of different islands and everything).



The boat tour was great fun. The other boat dies a couple of time and Gapie jumps across to the boat I'm on. I get some new beautiful views of Amsterdam. Suddenly the other boat dies again and this time we will have to tow it. Easier sad than done, we try to hold on to the rope and in under a bridge we have a smaller accident the other boat is scraping against the wall and we increase the speed. I hear a bang and the other boat has collided with something sticking out of the wall. No more problems we continue our tour, drinking and smoking. I'm amazed on how free the water ways are. Just not having a life west could/will get you pulled over here. Not to mention drinking and smoking...







After the boat tour I go to Hugo de Groot once again to get some more Cheese. On the way there I also pick up 5 grams LA Confidential from Grey Area. Always been good for me. On the way back I get two hashes from Dampkring, aisha and s***azlam (something like that anyway). Aisha was €8/g but I preferred it. Really good.


At 8 theres the party for the winning shop in our cup. Basjoe won which I completely get. Not the best smokes in Amsterdam, but overall I'd say it's the place I most like to be smoking weed. The café feeling, the atmosphere, comfortable seating, the fact that you feel welcome to stay as long as you want. I get to Basjoe a bit early, but are soon joined by the others. James is presented with the cup and he looks so happy. Everyone in the coffeshop cheers when he holds it up. He brings us a couple of packed bongs, one of which makes me cough like never before... I try avoiding that bong but it finds it's way back to me again.
I ask James for some Royal Hash but they have none left, instead I get some himalayan. Not as good in my opinion but still very pleasant.

End of memory.

Day 5 - April 22nd
I wake up early enough to get to Vondelpark in time for Hestias picnic. I'm not seeing anyone, am I at the right entrance? I think so. I search the nearer parts of the park and find Gapie who is also looking. We go back to the entrance and soon enough people start showing up. Not a great turn out but we had a really nice time. All the week the sun was shining and today was no exception. We spend a couple of hours in the park. I have a lot of bags at this point, and my favourites of the day are Hindu Kush (Club Media?), Durban Poison (Anyday), Kandy Kush (GA).



There was a t&t planned by 3 at the Dolphins but we got there one hour late or so. The personel say a few guys had been there but left already. They are not very friendly so we leave in a matter of minutes...



Next stop is De Klos. A few of us eat some dinner, I try coming here once every trip so skipping it wasn't really an option.

Afterwards hestia convinces me to take the tram to Dam square, the trams are packed with people but it was nice to rest my feet for a moment. Thanks
I finish the day at Basjoe and Nes, as usual...

I regret not going to the park meet now. But I did have other things that needed doing on that day where I'd have had to choose 1 or the other. Glad it worked out for those that did make the park meet

Glad the frisbee got some use had we tried to play, some poor bastard would have gotten hurt in the crowd. T'was a wonderful day, glad I met and hung out with you several times, F. You're a very nice man with good taste in weed.

islandgurl, yeah De Klos is special. I usually have problems finding good value food in Amsterdam, but this is a place I like come back to. I think that meal was 70% of the food I had during the week. Real good seeing you too, I hope we meet again

Trad, I really tried smoking as much as I could. Not a good weed situation at home atm... Haven't seen a bud since I left Amsterdam

Btw, I'm having some serious thoughts about moving (back) to Amsterdam. Really regret passing a job offer a few weeks ago. Depending on how things work out, I hope to do it within a year.
