Having frequented Basjoe's for years, I can attest to what Cisco wrote - the strain/type changes throughout the year. I've had specials that had notes of Diesel, Cheese, LA Con, Chocolope, and others.
Anyone, ANYONE that expects C/S weed to be at the highest possible quality everyday is a fool. Let me remind peeps that C/S's typically don't grow their own or even have contractors, they use distributors, or should I state they are at the mercy of distributors. True that C/S's don't have to accept what is offered, but what will they sell? It's not as easy as some think, just ask the C/S owners as I have.
As some have remarked about how some shops only have a few strains available at the moment, why is that? Resupply issues most likely, ya think? People need to get their heads away from their local drinking establishment mentality, remember - alcohol is legal and resupply is readily available, whereas cannabis is illegal, and resupply can be sketchy, get it? Some probably won't or can't, it's their problem, not mine. I can deal with the reality...

As for having smoked everything in town, I see this as a generalization, nothing more to read into.
In the seven years that I've been frequenting the C/S scene, I've visited more than half, and I still don't know where some of the smaller, out of the way shops are, the ones not listed in any directory. So, take it with a gram and move on...

As mentioned, Chocolope from the Grey Area is a tasty choice at the moment, and peeps can't go wrong with S5 Haze from Prix d' Ami or Mellow Yellow (try their Blueberry Hash, simply irresistible). And of course there is the Bas Special from Basjoe.

Everything I bought from Voyagers was top notch (king kong, og18 and something snow),
Everything I got from katsu (amnesia haze, bb cheese, mexican haze) was alos top notch,
1e Hulp's amnesia was very nice.

Voyagers and Katsu had the better atmosphere. Katsu the better prices.

cisco... i was there for 3 months bro.... i know the dealio... went to basjoe almost daily... right down the street from my apt. ask uncleron, boner,catalles, hestia etc. we were all there daily.

the chocolope in grey area was the best shit in town at the moment. (next to the ice-o-lator from bush doctor - holy fuck that shit was strong)

dconstrukt, I don't think he was trying to flame you. It's just hard to believe you visited ALL the coffeeshops in Amsterdam, I find it hard to believe myself. That would mean that you were visiting 2 or 3 new shops everyday the time you were there. Not saying you didn't try a lot of strains from a wide range of shops.

Yeah, well it's still hard to believe... I have trouble FINDING some of the coffeeshops, never mind sampling the entire menu of over 200 coffeeshops which, at the best of times have a slightly differing menu and/or quality of weed than the previous month/year/decade/etc... To me, and i assume others your comment just seemed a little arrogant... Not that i'm saying you're an arrogant person... I don't believe you are. I feel this topic is a little more subjective than that.

Im heading to the Dam on Friday, I have 6 hours to kill till I meet my partner at the airport. can anyone suggest a good coffeeshop near centraal station that I can sit down and spend a couple of hours with decent smoke before I head back to the airport!

got to be voyagers (if the renovations are finished). right next to the station, some of the best weeds I smoked in May.
If it's closed I'd be tempted to go down to either hill street blues on the market or greenhouse effect

Your original post made it seem that you smoked everything on your most recent trip. Like KeyMonCha said, it does make you sound arrogant. I know someone who had lived there there for a little over 5 years. He has tried to visit every shop, almost 200 to date, and still has managed to miss a few. And visiting for 3 months is not moving there, IJS.
