:) Hi, surrogate login  :)

This is L. I provide Hestia with technical support and clerk/typist skills when she needs the help. It seems seh is in demand to make entries, especially food related. Since she was cooking a big meal today she had me take photos and is asking me to post them on her behalf while she is off caring for a couple of little old lady hospice patients.

She started by frying chicken,

Image

Added baked macaroni and cheese with a crunchy cracker crumb toping,

Image

With a fresh loaf of bread to the side (purchased locally )

Image

and a vegetible plate

Image

With cantalope and a desert (the red cups are jello with bannanas and georgia peaches wit cool whip here is the whole layout.

Image

This is my plate. It tasted even better than it looked

Now I get to pack some to take with me to work this evening :D :D

Hi again. Got up last Sunday with teh day off and was ispired to cook. I had picked up a pork roast on sale (about 8 lb, call it 3.25 Kg roughly for you metric fans, thanks L. :) ) and decided "This is the day"

Rather than a dry rub, I made a paste of dried garlic, dried onion, red pepper flakes, liquid smoke, celery salt, and hot water. after piercing the roast to let it absorb the spices I covered it in foil and cooked in the over low and slow for about 8 hrs, tuning after 4 hrs.

The last 1.5 hrs I uncovered it to let it brown and get the fat crunchy. I also at that time surrounded it with Idaho potatos, sweet carrots, and Spanich onion.

Here is the result:

Done to perfection, fork tender. so you know the leftovers made great pulled pork barbeque for a couple of days. Served with bisquits and wild flower honey. There was home made rice pudding for desert. Sorry L had made a hit on it before I took a picture. :)

I did get a picture of the crenshaw melon, but only after being prepared for serving. They are a seasonal item available this time of year here in the states, If you can find them at all. I learned about them from L, who's parents grew them in their vegetible garden in Oklahoma when he was growing up.. They are slightly larger than a cantalope, with a milder sweeter flavor. :D

While visiting a friend in Florida,we had the pleasure of eating dinner at Hestia's. :)
The meals you made during 4 20 where deliocious, but they don't compare to what you can do in your home kitchen. We had brisket, mmmmm, but that honey-butter,now that is some of the best stuff I have ever eaten. Some of that on a biscuit...heaven.
Then, when you think you can't eat any more, out comes the desserts.Banana cream pie and a chocolate peanut butter tort. After a little break for a smoke,I try both desserts. Mmm,mmm, mmm.
Thanks for having us,looking forward to the next time.

I forgot to take pics of the food, but did remember for the desserts.Maybe it was my Dairy Queen or The Heavy Duty Fruity.
What?.............Fuck You
