since cannabis became decriminalized on jan1st,i wonder what the possibilities of opening a nl style coffeeshop in california are?
i'm sure it wont happen anytime soon as opening a business of this type would be very difficult.finding a landlord to rent a space for this type of venture, insurance, local police, security for staff and customers, the supply chain, local and federal government.so many obstacles to overcome, starting a business of this nature would take a huge amount of capitol,a shark of a lawyer,a huge set of cojones, and all the stars to align.
if it happens i think it would happen in a more liberal, tolerant place.san francisco, santa cruz,arcata/eureka come to mind.
i know this would be the type of place i would patronize for my needs rather than the lexus driving(obtained from slinging)20 year old wigger i use now.
any thoughts?

Not going to happen until cannabis is legal, although some dispensaries do offer an area where a registered patient can medicate.
The MASSIVE difference between The Netherlands and Cali is that it's not an infraction to posses up to 30gms in The NL. A massive difference indeed.

Guide to California's Marijuana Laws
As of January 1, 2011, possession of one ounce (28.5 gms) or less of marijuana is an infraction, punishable by a maximum $100 fine (plus fees) with no criminal record under Ca Health & Safety Code 11357b.

Happy shops...

^^ Trouble is here in the good ol' USA we have federal laws which trump state/local laws and under federal law marijuana is illegal to possess, grow, or consume period.
