Upcoming trip October 1-7th

my boyfriend and i have our trip planned for October 1-7th. This is our first visit to Amsterdam and we also decided to reserve a room in the Greenhouse Effect's hotel on Warmeosstraat. I was hoping someone could tell me a little about Amsterdam in October! I already know this is time where there arent many tourists and also around the average weather - but should i be expecting REALLY cold weather? We're definitely excited and i cant tell you how often im on this site picking out places to go and things to see! id appreciate any feedback! :P
