Re: Hash Presses
Looks interesting mate.
Exactly how big is a dime?? 1p, 5p, 10p or quid size?
I quite like the idea of having hash with the queens face on it, it'll be like it's by royal approval, lol
Good luck with it

Re: Hash Presses
So the result of a couple of runs , one with heat one without

My second run without heat was a bit tricky to separate the hash from the coin (I used a wax proof paper sandwich in the first) and will continue to use that method
Heat

Well chuffed with this first go , heat was added by holding under a running hot tap left a nice coin imprint in the hash
Second go had a nice Mickey Mouse print
but because I never used the paper stuff it stuck to the dies so had to break it
no heat added

Re: Hash Presses
Seems to be working quite well and you saved a fair few quid on the real thing. Good work mate
Re: Hash Presses
Thanks , pretty pleased how it turned out
don't have anymore skuff to use though
for now
So what are dimes like ? The 5 pences that im using have a ridge right round the edge , where the trichs get pressed into making it tricky to separate ! Are Dimes flat ?

Re: Hash Presses
i just found this web page which shows some dimes on their side ... dimes are slightly thinner than the 5 pence coin, roughly 2/3s the depth, but they also have a ridge right round the edge similar in size to the 5 pence coin ... and they have president roosevelt on themCisco wrote:So what are dimes like ? i have a spare pair of dimes which you can have if you want them ...
i also have a 1/2 pence coin whose ridge is not as high as the 5 pence, ie the coin is flatter, and is only a little bit smaller in width

Re: Hash Presses
The dime is an odd coin, the side with President Roosevelt's portrait has a raised edge and the other side is flat
I is female
