Of all the papers in the world i didn't expect support from the Daily Mail. Even most of the comments are fair.

I have just looked at it and it says 2015.
The Bulldog Amsterdam
There won't be a weed pass until at least 2015 and it has become highly questionable that will ever be implemented in Amsterdam! So enjoint!

It looks like the page you're a fan of is not the official page. The page tiltled "The Bulldog Amsterdam" looks to be the official one.macca187 wrote:just checked again and its still there heres a link to page

Re: No tourist ban or maybe there will be....then again...
Hello All ! This is my first post in this forum and it is exciting indeed...
Heres the deal:
Amsterdam coffee shops will not be closing their doors any time soon...
The Nazis at the Hague have passed the measure that would ALLOW for the wietpas, which is what we're so concerned about.
The European council has decided, in a PRELIMINARY ruling, that the wietpas DOES constitute discrimination - but that such discrimination is acceptable where it abates nuisance (dont see how that works out - clearly fascist ideology, though).
Amsterdam - the city council and mayor van der Laan are vehemently protecting their wonderful city from the wietpas. The council has argued that the tourists do not cause any mischief, and, amongst other things, this has been exemplified when comparing crime rates (red light district v. Joordan for example). The crime rates are identical yet one area has significantly more coffee shops (obviously). There would thus be no justification for the wietpas in Amsterdam.
Some say that in order to legally implement the wietpas, the Opium law would have to change - this would be the first time ever for this and is extremely unlikely.
Now if you make sense of all of this, it becomes apparent that the decisions will likely be left up to the cities themselves - which is the way it should be. I could support the wietpas in border regions if weed tourists are indeed causing problems. (I have never seen anyone causing trouble).
AND FINALLY - THINK REALISTICALLY!!!!!! HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE TO SET UP A DATABASE SYSTEM AND ALL THAT SHIT? BY NOVEMBER?
I THINK NOT!
=)

Oh man. To compare democratically elected legislators to Nazis is so stupid it begs me to ask how old you are.mark09 wrote: The Nazis at the Hague have passed the measure that would ALLOW for the wietpas, which is what we're so concerned about.

As for the European Court decision, I would like to see a reference to what you claim. My understanding that the court ruled it was acceptable since cannabis is illegal in NL (and throughout the EU), therefore it does not violate EU rules concerning commerce and the ability to travel and conduct business freely throughout the member states.
The ruling, as I posted before, can be found here: http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs ... 0121en.pdf
Regardless, there is nothing fascist about such a ruling (Webster's definition: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fascism).
Other than that, great post.
