Municipalities can ignore weedpass....
According to Minister Opstelten's concept letter to the Tweede Kamer (the official one, not the coffeeshop) about the Weedpass, it is up to the Mayors weather coffeeshops become members clubs and will ...refuse foreigners.
He will discuss his plan in the Ministers Council on Friday.(today)
This means nothing will change in Amsterdam, Haarlem, and all other cities with coffeeshops....

These posts get hyped up quickly. Fact of the matter is, they have been trying to implement this for almost a decade and I doubt it will ever happen. This is a twisted version of what actually was decided. Yes they want cities to implement the resident only wietpass but as mentioned in another topic this will be decided on a city by city basis. Everyone calm down. If the wave starts in the south and starts gaining momentum then I'll start getting concerned. But even then there's More money for The City of Amsterdam with tourists allowed to purchase small amounts of cannabis than the alternative so I just can't fathom it happening. What you have are misinterpretations of the ideas of right wing xenophobes who are grasping at straws...

Not happening as I've said for as long as I've been on this forum... If the wietpass went into effect don't you people think that those who own and operate coffeeshops would find a way around it? Or are you so moronic to think they'd just throw up their hands and say "Okay"?? I mean really people! A couple of articles and instantly everyone but Myself, USBL, Kermit, Marco, and Twich are fucking Bawling. Give me a break and use some logic.... And If Amsterdam is your sole source of bomb herbs either move or grow your own...

They were told they had to choose weed or booze, they didn't get around that, they have to only stock 500 grams, they haven't got around that, no under 18's, they haven't found a way around that either, if the city council say they can only sell to people with a wietpass they'll only sell to people with said pass otherwise the city will take their license off them, they're just looking for excuses to shut coffeeshops, X amount were told they'd have to close if they're within 250 metres of a school, this has already been extended to 350 metres and if they can shut even more they will no doubt say 500 metres or even 1000, it's moronic to think anything else.

In all honesty, and truly ask yourselves, but if the local authorities are given the option as to wether they introduce the pass or not, (which is what is supposed to be happening, someone correct me if im wrong) will amsterdam actually do it? I hear the local amsterdam authorities are happy with the way things are. Given the choice will they willingly just change it. Im not talking about anywhere else in the netherlands, just amsterdam??????

As stated in one of the other threads, there is still much information that has yet to be made "official". I recommend that peeps sit back, light up a fatty or whatever, and be patient. Also stated elsewhere, if The Netherlands is the only source for weed, either find a local connect or grow your own.
Funny thing is that I have yet to notice any locals complain about this, only foreigners and C/S peeps.

Find a way around it? Do tell? Without fear of losing their business? Do tell?

What did they do when they were limited to 500 grams?
What did they do when they were limited to selling 30 grams, then reduced to 5 grams.
I could go on.
They threw their hands in the air and said "OK".

You really don't know the history do you? Logic says "I fought the law and the law won".

It's not about moving or growing your own. This was a successful experiment that is being stopped because of outside pressure and the unwillingness to address the supply side of the business. At the front door, there has been less crime and problem by far then the pub scene. Black and white really.
