There are a couple of parts where you are outside - in the food court areas just outside the Nile arena, and also leading to some of the smaller stages. That's where people were smoking.
I didn't spend anytime outside. We smoked in the VIP lounge.

Nothing is happening.

When something does happen im sure we will all hear about it before we get the chance to come on the forum.

Please no more threads of fear guys, I have to listen to mongs back home who believe everything they hear, trying to tell me every time I book a flight that I wont get served. It's insane.

It's from Adventures in Europe, featuring Greenhouse and Paradox, from our friend Chilli Ed. He's the one that did all of the Ganja Tours videos.

Spoke to my friend who I'm meeting at Awakenings next weekend and he said that they will take any weed they find off you at the entrance but will still let you in. However, he said it is very likely they will kick you out if they find you smoking in the festival grounds. That said, there's going to be 40,000 people there so it's a case of be sensible and discrete i.e. probably not a good idea to wander round with a big cone on the go!!!

I don't know how much the talk of this ban has affected tourism, but it did affect my plans to try and go in August. Even though I was just there in April, I've got a Danube river boat trip in August and was going to try and book my flight so that I could stop in Amsterdam for a few days. I needed to finalize my schedule around the time that all the doom and gloom talk was flying around a few weeks ago. I decided it wasn't worth all the hassle (which was considerable in terms of money and flight schedules) to try and work it out and then have the ban kick in by the time I got there. Is weed the only reason I go to the Netherlands? No, but since I was just there on a great sightseeing trip, it would've been the main reason I was going this time. It just wasn't worth the headache and risk to me.

Eh it's affected your tourism so I would hazard a guess that other peeps are doing the same !? Thanks to all the great informative articles going round

Tbh I'm kinda waiting myself for a trip I make in October , but can't really see it coming in by then (maybe as the area I visit I believe they wanna trial it) Brabant/Limburg . But I would jus stock up in Dam first

Sean said it best. It will be all over the national news stations because of amsterdam being famous for its tolerance. I wouldnt worry about it, I know I don,t.

Probably, but nobody knows anything for sure.
Doubtful even if they do follow through with it.
Depends how the first 2 questions go, what locals you know and if they decide to tag on any other draconian bollox regarding smoking along the way.

i met gapie a few times ,previously. on one of my trips. this will be my fourth trip . guess i should meet more locals this time

i just got back last week (3 months in the dam)

no one there gives a fuck or knows about any ban.

until the coffeeshop OWNERS get a letter from the govmnt well in advance IF they shut down, then you should properly shit in your pants.

Until that happens (or doesn't), relax and enjoy.
