I didn't want to get into this but I lived in Tel-Aviv, Israel for 10 years, believe me I know the situation more than you guys will ever know. Interesting point - 10% of the people in my town are Gays/Lesbians. 1.5 Million out of 7m Jews here smokes pot.
The palastenian make terror in Jerusalem, Sderot and Haifa. This country belongs to Jews, They got more than 15 arab countriesHow much we have? 1! Smaller than new jersey! and we gave 1/4 of it to them!
Well they cause a lot of problems + every citizen in Israel is paying for feeding them and take care for their health (for these who lives in Israel, the terrorists in gaza want to destroy us.) I bet you believe to the newspaper crap.
Watch this I hope you will understand Israel just protecting the country and freedom.
If an arab will walk in the streets ANYWHERE, ANYTIME in Israel, no one will even think about him in bad way, but if a JEW/AMERICAN/BRITISH/ANYONE WHO ISN'T MUSLIM will walk into an arab neiborghood (somewhere near Jerusalem), woah the chances he will get rubbed, raped (yes also men) and even kidnapped are almost 100%. THE ARABS HERE ACT LIKE ANIMALS
63 years ago Israel was land of SAND. After the shoah, Jews from europe came to Israel and built the country with their own hands.

I'm from NYC and I've been to Amsterdam several times and have been through many of the neighborhoods. There are a fair amount of Muslims in Amsterdam, but in my experience, they mind their business and dont appear to cause trouble. I have never witnessed any threatening behavior by Muslims of any age towards anyone. Amsterdam is quite diverse a city and is packed with tourists from all over the place, including Israel, I would imagine. These types of tourist hubs are usually not prone to hostile anti-semitic behavior. So, I dont think you should have much of anything to worry about. It is an odd question, but I can understand from what you have been exposed to living in Israel that you would have these concerns. In NYC, there can be all sorts of foreign conversations going on at once on a city corner! No one cares or minds...

Badmotorfinger, have you checked to see if you'll need a visa and/or residence permit? If so, that is the biggest hurdle you will face. Even though you are self-employed via the internet, you'll still have to have some Dutch clients/customers. Not to mention it will also have to serve essential Dutch interest. Well I've always wanted to visit NY but I can't because I must work all the time and I can't sell nothing online in the US without a Social Security Number, which I don't have.
I own an eBay store + site for fashion clothing and brands apparel, most of my clients are from Germany, England, Spain, and the Netherlands.
I have a bank account in the UK so the money goes there and I will use the ATM's in Amsterdam to withdrawl money
Anyway I'm moving with 6,000euros in case there will be problems, I will be able to survive without need to come back to Australia/Israel earlier than 3 months. I can stay there legally for only 3 months, would love to meet some of you guys there.
Does anyone know if the girls are opened or anti social ? Does the cold weather cause them be less friendlier at the fall/winter periods ? How is the drinking culture there ? It's just amazing that you can drink how much you want and ride home/room with your bicycles. Well Amsterdam appears to be the best city in the world.

Your comments on Israel are so one-sided, you are simply repeating what you are told. But this is not a board for debating the middle east.

What does opened girls mean, I am curious? Women in Europe are not easy to 'get'. Are they easy in Israel?

Drinking and biking is illegal, btw. Better than driving of course.

anti semitism is on the rise in europe, people automatically relate the actions of a country as representtative of every jewish persons views on earth & unfortunatly its not seen as serious as other forms of racism,
not mentioning any names (99% of u know who im talking bout) but theirs a member on here who openly writes racist stuff about jews, had he written the same thing about black people or asian people or muslims/hindus or sikhs he would have been banned instantly, but like i say some forms of racism seems to be acceptable
+why dont these same racists ever question the actions of turkeys genocide of millions of armenian christians?

We also laugh when we hear jokes on jews and stuff but no one accept with the neo nazis Holocaust deniers which still hate for nothing and arabs outside israel who want our country. Also the mentality of my generation nowdays is very different and liberal, for example hookers are legal here in the city Tel Aviv, you can smoke on the street and no one will look at you in a weird way, you can be gay and walk like a women again no one will care about that which im sure 50 years ago like all were shocked and stuff

well approaching women is something i do almost every day at any place in the last 2 years. It will be weird at start because i'm not local, but all the girls have +- the same emotional switches and are attracted to sort of things men combines in their personality. the girls here are not easy to get for most guys, because more than 50% of men are having approach anxiety, also the chicks here are too smart for women lol (^ ~) but girls in LA/SF/Panama/Thailand/Turkey were 10 times easier to get and get bumped in total.
I lived in Tel-Aviv it's like the 'miami of the middle east, The beaches are always full, the weather is great and the chicks are super attractive. a lot of americans/frenches/Germans visiting in the summer, mostly in Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem.

I have some bad news, Dutch girls are tough to get involved with and (sorri) I am pretty sure most of them are not worth it, as this is a pretty conservative society. Your best bet is to enjoy all the fellow foreigners who live here in Amsterdam.

PS: You can get any girl you want, in any city, all you need is self-confidence. Getting stoned outta your mind is probably not the best idea when you want to talk to girls. Use the force, lol.
