SORRY OFF TOPIC---

Baically kief/shake/crystals is the same as in bubblehash - there are just different extraction methods.

Kief is normally just shaken buds, sieved through some sort of mesh to get all green plant parts out and only end up with the trichomes containing THC.
Bubblehash or Ice-O or what you would like to call it is also basically trichomes but extracted from the plant via ice and water.

you can check out this forum for more info:

Weedly Week Report 13/11-26/11 (TWO WEEKS!)

Post by jBomb »

13/11 - Monday
Bluebird
1.7g “Bubblegum X Northern Lights” - 12,5
I properly tried this again - I wouldn’t dare say Dubble Bubble, but Bluebird’s brand is really nice. I was actually very surprised considered there’s very little good ‘Gum in the city. Hope it stands out.

15/11 - Wed
3.5g Grey Haze
Before you Cup goers get your grubby little fingers on all of it.

Bluebird
1.4g NY Diesel - 12,5
And Diesely it is.

2.2g Super Skunk - 12,5
Off-chance, they;d showed me a bag and convince me. Very nice reg, the kind you want to burn in a joint with a bit of very nice hash, rather than tobacco (If that’s you’re thing)

16/11 - Thu
In the essence of stocking up, today I hit two places that have good special offers and big bags - for more try something at OV Hortus, and XXX from Central.

Katsu
2.0 Black Widow, 20
The Black Widow, as mentioned before, is a very nice smoke and a must get if you’re in the area. Black Domina X White Widow. Very functional but giggly stone. You’re getting things done and having a blast.

3.2 Northern Lights/Silver Pearl - 20,
What a deal! When done right, Northern Lights really packs a punch and it stands out, but you notice the stonieness of the Pearl.

Mellow Yellow
1g Cherry Pez - 10
Cali Indica, does indeed smell like it sounds. Very nice Indica buzz, for lovers of unusual West Coast strains.

4g Blueberry - 23
Though the deal has changed, the quality is very good. Only Anyday’s Stella Blue seems to be able to top it, but it’s a bit pricier.

17/11 - Friday
CHANNELS MEET - AMNESIA
islandgirl, Haze, jerkypete49, Mile High Denver and Lady, Oracle, and jBomb

Grey Area
5g Outdoor - 22,5
Frankly I’d get this before any big bag Central had to offer. It’s outdoor, but anywhere else the quality would cost you 8,.

1g Chocolope - 12
Cannalope X Chocolate Thai
Smells and tastes a bit like chocolate, if you can believe it. You’ll notice that most of DNA strains are crossed with Cannalope or G13. What I can’t figure is if they are using them because they cross-breed well, or if they are profiting off of the popular name. I reckon a bit of both.

Nes
1g Sada Shiva - Nes
Buds really stood out. Nicest Shiva I’ve had yet. Way to go, Nes!

18/11 - Saturday
Grey Area
1g Sharksbreath - 11,50
Fantastic. Rockin it in a Roor at Amnesia, too many laminates in GA proper. Great White Shark (a personal fave) X Jamaican Lambsbreath. I feel wobbly.

I saw Dampkring’s entry, in a box a la Barneys “Willie” of last year, but this one contained three entries - Waterworks (Nederhash), Rifman Noor (Import Hash), and John Sinclair (Weed). Very classy.

19/11 - Sunday
Channels Meet - De Kuil - jerkypete49, Haze, Schipol and Lady, TAK and Holly, Mark1, jBomb

20/11 - Monday
IC Mag Meet - Indica - MHD, Schiphol, Nol, and ICMag dudes

The best stuff I smoked all week was here. None of it was from shops, but rather some of the best growers and Ice-O makers in the world. I had never seen Ice-O melt so smoothly then when I smoked it here. Vapos, Bongs, pipes, joints, blunts, and of course, Nol’s famed pipe “The Dragon.” Had a blast.

21/11 - Tue
Got the privilege to help DJ the official Grey Area/DNA Genetics party. Have to admit, the party was a bit lame, the never-ending Jam band only stopped when the never-ending raffle started. Didn’t DJ much, but we all got high… mission accomplished.

22/11 - Wed
Got hooked up with some passes from a mate and took the Amnesia/Barney’s boat to the C-Cup Expo on the other side of Het IJ. This was a prime way to impress a judge. There was free food, drink, and volcano hits to and from, and you didn’t have to bother with the stupid ferry. It made the disappointment of the Expo all the more.

The Expo is what you’d expect, a bunch of cramped tables covered in over-priced, over-thought paraphernalia and enhancements to smoking (flavored bong water, clear, cellulose papers, vapos with a hand-held heating element, and a ton of crap that’ll be out of business by the 20th Cup. Cheesy, but most Seed Companies had free hits, so hell yeah. So we voted and got the hell out of Dodge

We also took our passes to Barneys, received a half gram of each entry, t-shirts, and some other freebies. GreenHouse (who had bouncers to make sure only judges were inside) offered a gram of each entry and a hat for 25. When Barney’s gives for free, I don’t pay at the GreenHouse. They said they’re free stuff ran out. OK, bye. The Kottonmouth Kinges, who Arjan obviously paid off, hung out at the big table at GH Centrum. To see them was kinda cool, I guess.

23/11 - Thu
HIGH CRIMES CANNABIS CORRUPT RESULTS!

You know the results by now. Congrat’s Arjan! All it took was years of selling out, lying, back-stabbing, and unabashed ass-kissing to get 30 Cups. Big F’n deal. A big congrats to Grey Area on a respectable 3rd, to DNA for the LUX Bong, Barney’s, and the other real winners.

Also, quick mention - Big Buddha won for Cheese and Bleu Cheese… great. BUT REMEMBER - the product smoke for that cup, esp. for the “celebrity” judges (because the K-Mouth Kings are huge celebs) came from the seed companies, and with all the hype here from the clones off the mother plant in England which has since died, that though it will be a good plant, don’t expect the best weed ever, esp. what the judges were smoking. Genetics are a funny thing, and growing is an art. Every plant is different, as is each grower, thus results vary. Congrats to Big Buddha, though.

24/11 - Fri
Meet - Amnesia - jBomb, oracle, Tak, Schiphol, and Haze

25/11 - Sat
Kashmir Lounge
.3g Dutch Delight Kif - 3,
Great Moroccan décor - Only place I know where locals buy the kif… shows it’s special

Het Tuintje
4g AK-47 - 20,
Great deal, perfect local place with good deals. A little green, and it was only 3.7, but a good smoke.

26/11 - Sunday
I didn’t buy any today, but I got clones from Soma at Soma Seeds to help a friend grow. Lavender, NYCD, and Hash Plant Haze, very nice.

Imagine my surprise when I go to Soma’s house and find half the staff of “High Crimes Cannabis Corrupt” tripping balls on mushrooms strewn throughout Soma’s den (Imagine the beginning to every 60’s drug-propaganda film. I figure it’s some sort of a last day thing before they have to go back to hiding their stash like a normal person. A bunch of suits who wanted to pretend they were still "hip" - they were sitting on low couches, eating sprouts and treating Soma like the guru these people have made him think he is. Turns out, he just makes amazing weed, and we love him for it.

WEED/HASH OTW - My God, don’t make me choose. Like I said, the best shit was imported in from the “serious” faction in the Cup (pro-growers that only smoke their own, and when you try, you know why) But, in the shops, I ‘m going with Sharksbreath. I’ve always loved the Great White Shark strain, and it ticked me off that the only place to get it was GreenHouse, like Hawaiian Snow. When DNA shot out with the Breath and crossed GWS with Lambsbread, they hit the money. BOOM. Grey.

COFFEESHOP OTW - Kashmir Lounge - Now I can finally cross it off my list. It’s one of the best Moroccan shops for décor and selection. Very comfy and dimly lit. Good for a group get-together or a couple’s night, or chillin; by yo’ damn self. A way out of town, but worth it

The Cup has come and gone, and thank God. As much fun as it was, it’ll be nice to have room to breathe in the shops now. You don’t realize how much the Cup infiltrates the shops until you’re here outside of Cup week. Also, unfortunately, this kind of event invites the worst kind of tourist, and the “Ugly American” quota was a bit high, saying that knowing I’m an American myself. It was great to see the turnout, but every party ends when it should, ultimately.

I've been to Resin properly. It's run by the son-in-law and daughter of Soma (of Soma Seeds). It's a dark coffeeshop with an OK Menu. However, they've already proven themselves as chinsy and deceptive as the others. Their "Gravity" Cup entry for 12, can be found else where for 9, but look for Heavy Duty Fruity, as that's it real name. The hash is high quality (they don't put any product in the shop unless they themselves would smoke it), but very, very expensive. Top end 73micron stuff is 50, but you'd be out of your mind to pay more than 40, esp. with Barney Rubble at 38, (35, for Cup Week). The shop is unremarkable, and looking to grab tourists with it's prime locale and the conosseuir (sic) market with their Ice-O. Because it's Soma-associated, I had hoped it would go the way of cheesy, run-of-the-mill shop, but that's seems to be the objective. Too bad, so sad.

Also, in a bit of sad news, two coffeeshop licenses were dropped last week. Coffeeshop Little has closed, thought I don't know why, and the Other Place, with a biker theme, dropped the weed and kept alcohol, as they would have done in March anyway, when the law changes and alcohol is no longer allowed in shops. It’s a war of attrition. Roughly 20-30 licenses will be lost in March for places that can't give up alcohol (Hunters, Hill St Blues on Warmoestraat, one of the Stone's Cafes, and others), never to be re-issued. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

I’m hittin’ the Sharksbreath now, so this probably isn’t the best edited report, but I wanted to get it out tonight. If any clarification is needed please let me know. Crazy Cup, can’t wait for 4/20. Of course, big cheers to all the Channelites, ACDers, Hip Forumanians, IC Maganizos, and the rest that made it to all the meets. Puff, puff.

Sounds good to me... no obligation, though. Meeting all you guys seems to be the real reward coming from all this, but I'd never turn down a donation. See you soon.

Thanks for the report again J. I always thought you were a Brit from your writing style, no idea why really :)

All of this info is being stored in the scrambled mess that is my brain getting ready for Feb's trip.

Top report though, really enjoyed it :)

I've actually gotten that before. Though I grew up in Chicago and moved here from New York, I've studied in London, and used to live in Southampton, so I picked up a few choice phrases and styles, like not bothering to put subjects in my sentences. Funny how you caught onto that. Cheers.

Another fine effort, jBomb. We'll be there next week, so I'll have to go back and re-read your posts before then, and try to pick up three or four essentials for our grocery list.

In that vein...you probably addressed this somewhere back in the posts, but since you're a fan of the Grey Area Crystals, have you also tried Stix' Gunpowder, and what is your take on how they compare?

Thanks again.

I've had a gram of each, if I'm not mistaken, and both are very nice, smooth smokes. But, while Gunpowder (now that Bizar is gone) is one of the best thngs on the menu at Stix and what I'd choose, you can probably find a weed you'd enjoy a lot more at Grey Area compared to their kif. I don't knwo what plants each come from, which would weigh heavily in a fair assessment. Hope that helps.

I'm sure Grey Area's used to come from "Grey Mist"..... I'm not sure if that's still the case though.

Weedly Week Report 27/11-3/12

Post by jBomb »

27-30/11 - Thursday
None had.

Arabica Lounge
This is a small, Moroccan run place near the Amstel and Rembrandtplein. They’re nothing to scream about, but it is a far cry from the other very poor shops in Rembrandtplein, like Old Amsterdam and Smokeys. So, if you find yourself around there and are tired of the Rokerij, check it out. Decent hash deals.

Homegrown Fantasy
I went in after a forum member reminded me why it was a great shop. I walked out remembering why I don’t go in a lot. There were only two weeds available - Snow White and something else. The rest was sold out, a White Widow and Santa Maria (at least I think it was Maria) and something else. When they have the goods, they are tops, but the are struggling post-Cup to get their stock back up.

1/12 - Fri
Rokerij
I had been misinformed that Rokerij had a NL5X Diesel. Sadly, this is not the case, as I was looking for something diesely. The best NYCD at the moment seems to be coming from Willie Wortels and the Greenhouse Effect, amongst others, I’m sure.

2/12 - Sat
Grey Area
1g Sweethaze - 12,
Skunk Haze X Cannalope Haze
Sweet is definitely the word. This in a cellulose paper is like smoking candy. Feels like candy, too. Very nice high.

3/12 - Sunday
Grey Area
2g LA Haze shake - 10,
La Confidential X Cannalope Haze
Another fine strain from DNA, but I must admit, I’m finding it harder and harder to distinguish between

5g Outdoor - 22,5
For hash joints, cause tobacco will kill ya.

Paradox
2.3g Ace (PP) - 17,
Ran over there with Schiphol and his lady today. I actually only bought 5, to start, but when I tried it, I knew I had to have some more. Smoking it now, and it’s stonier that some other more expensive Indicas in Mokum. Very cool, healthy shop with fresh juices, abstract art, and good service.

Got a unique opportunity this week. Was given some Rockbud. Though I’m not sure of the genetics, the weed itself is an awful smoke. BUT, a few runs through the 70micron bag in the Bubbleator, and you get “Unreal” Hash that sells at Resin for 50,. I’m very privileged to have received a bit for helping out with the isolating. It is a fantastic, stoney Mother Fucker (worth capitals). Also made some excellent Power Plant hash as well.

FAVORITE WEED/HASH OTW - I’m going to take this chance and give it up to Paradox and what was to say the least a surprising smoke from Paradox. Very stoney, it’s a dream in a bong. The also had some nice Widow/Afghan… if that’s your thing.

FAVORITE SHOP OTW - Paradox again. This is a brighter, more artistic shop then you usually find in the cirty. They made their own juices and vegetarian dishes during the day. Don’t stare at the abstract paintings for too long, they start to look like stuff after a while.
A-Bomb...H-Bomb... it was inevitable.
