Short report - Cristiania Denmark and Amsterdam

Ok so this is a short report, as my head is gonna take a few days to recover but by that time I fear my memory will be haze as was much of the smoke :) so here it goes

Saturday night I Land in copenhagen for my first time, my host greets me at the airport with a nice bag of orange haze, pretty nice smelling and can't wait to roll one up after the flight. I asked the guy about wheather it came from cristiania and he told me that we were going there that evening and I can pick out what I want. This city really feels like dam to a certain degree, lots of people on bikes, and very similar architecture. Now for an 'in a nut shell' explanation of what cristianaia is..... Cristianania is actually a very large piece of land in the centre of copenhagen. It was previously an old military base, but was unused and taken over by a bunch of hippies late 60's.. You can't drive there, people build their own houses, there are day and night time concerts, performances, and the people living there make their own livings from Cristianana, so they don't have and state reliance. Legally the people living there have no claim to the land and the state owns it, but it's a long story so look it up :)

Anyway, Cristianana is famous for one part, pusher street, and that night I was taken there by my host. This place blew my mind! There were Market stall upon Market stall of dealers selling all sorts of weed and hash. I'm a weed guy so only really took notice of the green but did notice pollens and butter. The first stall I went to had super silver haze, lemon haze, cheese, bubble gum, pineapple kush and trainwreck.. Prices were about 100-120 k, which is about 12-13 pound per gram so not exactly cheap. Ok so I check out lots of the stalls and there are a good 50 of them, and decide what I want. I pick up 2 grams of lemon haze, 2 grams of vanilla kush, 1 gram of pineapple kush and 1 gram of silver haze. All of the smokes were really strong but completely different taste wise to dam strains. Don't get me wrong they had some great tastes, but not what I was expecting. The stone on the other hand was intense a lot deeper than uk or dam strains.

The next day we went back to cristiania to see it by day, and it was a beautiful place, I really wanted to take some pics, but it's prohibited and I saw a guy getting cornered by some cristianinan people and they were checking what pics he had taken so didn't risk it! However I took some pics of the purchases and will upload when I get to a computer..

Also I'll continue the Amsterdam part after some sleep :)

I didn't really check kiosks there, there could have been, but I was only checking the stalls. I was with a host and he seemed to know where he was going so I followed him.

ok so I have had a week to recover now so about time I carry on with this report!! :)

I've got to say first though that Cristiania is a great place, and Copenhagen is simular in size to Amsterdam, so i'd strongly recommend a visit... I'm actually now in two minds whether to have my stag weekend next year there or Amsterdam. They both have so much to offer but are both so different.

I arrive back home from Denmark on Sunday night, and i'm feeling pretty tired, so I smoke the last two spliffs of Amnesia i've been saving at home before bed, and get some much needed rest before my 4am alarm call for Amsterdam on Monday morning.

I can't be bothered to go through the whole get to airport, had some food etc... so instead we are now at Dam Central for 9.26am :) We head straight for haarlemmerstraat. I think the main reason for this is purely because I know exactly where I'm going lol. I've been to Dam a good 30 times now, but still get lost everynow and then. First stop was Dampkring and it was closed!!! Oh well, guess we are a bit too early for a Monday morning... So we travel up the road to Barneys. There were only 3 people in there and one of them was leaving, i've never seen the place so empty! Heaven!! :)

I purchased 3 grams of tangerine dream, 1 g of G13 haze, 1g of Dr Grinspoon. Started the first spliff of the day with the Dr. It was much better than last time I visited. Nice uplifting stone, good taste. I was now relaxed after a stupid amount of travelling since the previous Friday. I haven't liked Barney's for a while, but really good start to the day on this occasion. The bud tender was friendly, showed us many strains and also spoke to us about the 'weedpass' situation. His opinion was the same as all of my friends in Dam. Everyone is saying that it will come into force, but first for all the boarder towns. Amsterdam will be fine for another year at least. My only moan was that the Red diesel was off the menu. I haven't had this for about 3 years and was excited when I heard it was back on the menu. The bud tender told me that it wasn't great anyway and they had been struggling to grow it, so I doubt it will be back on there anytime soon.

Tangerine Dream 9/10 (really great example, loved it, and can see why and what the hype is about)
Dr Grinspoon 7.5/10 (nice stone, uplifting, tasty as well)
G13 Haze 8/10 (Always nice, and was this time)

Originally I said this was a short report, and I am now becoming aware that I am making this long, so best speed things up a bit!!! lol

Next stop was Greenhouse. We had to wait 5 mins for the tender to arrive, but this gave me a chance to order one of their lovely hot chocolates.
I bought 1g amnesia, 2g green crack, 2g super lemon haze, 2g super silver haze

Amnesia 6/10 (had better)
ssh 7/10 (pretty nice, better to come though)
lemon 8/10 (always nice, and good stone)
green crack 4/10 (not great, was better on last visit, needed a few more weeks growing time)

Strains were not as good as usual, and was really let down with the green crack. My last visit this stuff was lovely, but was really bad this time. I did enjoy chilling out here for a bit though. It's a good place for people watching and a nice location.

Moving on Dampkring was now open, we only popped in this time as my friend had a hat on and didn't want to remove it haha. I picked up 1g Cheese, which I always buy there because it tastes great. The menu hadn't changed since my last visit so I was happy to try some different things from different places rather than stocking up there this time.

Cheese 8.5/10

We then popped into Rokerij where I picked up some more Amnesia Haze, which is always nice from here and cheap also at 9 euros a gram and 1g Laughing Budda which was ok, just lacked a bit of taste throughout the smoke. The tender was friendly, only complaint was he tried up selling, I've seen this here every visit to every customer too so it must be something they are told to do. I declined an told the guy I only wanted gram bags and he was cool and no less friendly.

Amnesia Haze 8/10
Laughing Budda 6/10

Right as i've covered Haarlemmerstraat and i'm currently using my phone to type this report I am going to have another break and continue when I can get online properly :)

I really enjoyed these recent reports on Christiana. Nice to hear the wooden stands are up. Brings back memories of my trip about 15 years ago. My friends and I picked up some excellent herbs before we headed on the ferry from Malmo to Germany. The ferry ride was quite fun.

I must make a return trip soon.

Great report!
I like to read more and more about Christiania. I think my Spetember holiday will include a trip to Copenhagen.

Do they talk English or do you have to talk Danish?
