I am visiting amsterdam 7-13 through 7-21 2011 and i have total of 646 euros for the trip.
is that enough to book hotels and visit ALOT of coffeeshops and get some things to eat for the whole week?

Plus how is the weather in amster through 7-13 7-21. I have a feeling it rains in amsterdam during summer times.

I have more questions and ill keep in touch with you guys soon by posting more. Thank you

well let's have a look at your minimum budget ...

your trip dates are 7-13 through 7-21 ... that's eight nights and nine days

your total of 646 euros for nine days is just under 72 euros per day

each day you will need to provide for hotel, food, drink, weed and miscellaneous items (pipes, etc)

let's say 20e for food, 10e for drink (each visit to a coffeeshop will mean buying a drink at least), 20e for weed (that's two grams at an average price of 10e per gram) and 2e for miscellaneous ... that is a total of 52e per day ... and for nine days that is a trip total of 468 euros ... that leaves 178 euros for eight nights accomodation or about 22 euros per night

there are a few hostels in amsterdam which might be around 22 euros a night or maybe a little more (i don't have specific names sorry)

so i would say that your budget is quite tight for your full trip and it would be a struggle to have a lot of fun

my suggestion would be to have a shorter trip so that you can enjoy your time in town

Instead of sleeping in a park, bad idea by the way, why not pitch a tent at Camping Zeeburg? It's something like €10 a night. Stop off at Albert Heijn, grocery store, for food and drinks. For your weed, make your purchases outside the Centrum to save a few euro. You can smoke in the parks just find a quiet spot. That will keep you from buying the drinks in the coffeeshops.

Peace,
Balou

Welcome to the forum.

You have been posted on the July Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
There is one already planned for the 15th.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/membe ... le&u=65354

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Yes!
you have to bring a tent wit you! the price are 11.50 a night (since it High season)
http://www.campingzeeburg.nl/index.php? ... servations
but then you have to rent a bike or get bus pass for the week ;) +40euro

if you want some ppl walk around Haarlemmerstraat asking ppl if looking for cheap hostel or whatev they offer was told by one thatt its 10-15euro a night in centrum (at first was thinknig the same most of you reading this its a SCAM) but ...this year meet two guys who tried it..told me was some guys house in centrum who rent spots on the floor for 10euro a night guy looked shaddy but ended being very cool whit them!!

then you got Couchsurfing ..but GOOD luck since most hosts in Amsterdam dont want Drug tourist coming and going and you be told they aint a Hostels and give you a list of then if you end up being one of those ;)

yeah i agree with the others. I spent near on £1000 for 4 days. I did almost smoke an oz to myself within that time though.

What makes it expensive is buying drinks in coffeeshops & buying the stronger strains, Your better off buying some ak47 or white widow. its cheaper and will still get you stoned. and then explore if you legs can handle the cobbles lol. I felt like I had shin splints after 4 days of walking around. The camp site has got to be the best bet for you. Dunno where you could pick one up out there, need a millets or something like that.

Flying pig and durty nellies are both hostals, both quite cheap, not much privicy I may add.

But definately advise to go for less time and therefore be able to do more with your money and be more comfortable

Perrys sell cheap tents, google for the website. you could try camping vliegenbos, nearer to centrum so cuts down on transport costs - it's not as nice as zeeberg though imo.
For weed buy some of the multigram deals from noon, mellow yellow or ocean, or there's a guy on waterlooplein market.
