Only 16 days and 20 hours left to suffer

Post by Andy »

Only a couple more weeks and I'll be heading off to best city in the world for a few days fun and I really can't wait.

I've been twice before and had a couple of rather different trips. The first time was pretty much the best holiday I've ever had. Managed to get the flights return for under £20 and even when I realised that I had overlooked how to get form the airport to the hotel there was a friendly Dutch guy there to tell us which bus to take. We spent three days going from one coffeeshop to the next and the only coherant memory I have is being woken up by Chris holding weed and telling me to 'Skin Up'

Second time didn't start out well as it's was chukking it down (compared to three days of gourgeous sun the first time) and then got worse when one of my mates had a panic attack after one joint! Lesson learned; never believe people when they tell you they've been doing it for years.

So anyway this time it's back to a group of three (isn't it supposed to be a lucky number?) and I'm hoping to relive the awesome first time although it would be nice to remember a bit more

Really just posting to say hi but I do have a couple of questions. Has anyone been at the end of September before as I'm wondering how cold it's going to get. Also is there anyone whos been after not smoking for a while and did it take long to get back in the groove? Just I moved to new town recently and am a few months out of practice.

Hi andy, welcome along and i really hope your visit is a good one... I just had a tiny break (flew out 9.40am, sunday 1st sep, came home sat 2nd at 5.45pm)... smoked myself senseless... which for me is priority #1.

Enjoy my fellow essex boy (romford born, bread in Lainden, now north london... for last 29 years anyway).

Stay cool,

Rez

Hi Andy, good to have you along. The weather is very similar to here, so it could be warm and sunny, but more likely cold and grey. Who cares when it's toasty warm in the coffeeshops though?

True it doesn't really matter but it is nicer when the suns out. On our first trip we went out in April and had some blinding weather, great for space shakes followed by random wanderings through the city. We have blue skys here at the moment but not sure that'll hold for two weeks, if it does it'll be great, if not I'll just have stay in the coffee shops all day

Down to five hours to go, I'm finally packed and ready and munching some breakfast before heading to the airport. And, fingers crossed, the weather seems to have come through:

Cheers for all your helpful posts guys and I'll be sure to post a report when I get back next week.

You sound like my posts in May when I was just about counting the minutes those last few weeks. :)
