It was on Damrak... I went in, and the smell was overpowering... a really hideous aroma they were trying to use to cover up something else, but if what they were trying to cover up was as bad as that smell...
Anyway, I was really baked, so I don't remember much, but there was a ton of Asians, and there were a number of roulette wheels covered in plastic domes (to prevent cheating, I guess).
Walked around a bit... and these bouncer types kept blocking my way and shaking their head, "no". Kind of scary, being as high as I was.
Took me a while to get out of there, too, it was like a maze.
I've tried googling, and searching here, but nothing.
What is the deal with those places?
What was the deal with this gambling place?
Re: What was the deal with this gambling place?
I noticed the same thing, also in my travels to other countries (Spain in particular). They looked like casinos, but with games I've never seen before, very different looking and shaped machines...also a very uneasy feeling in them, I only went in a couple times and ended up walking right back out.
I enjoy gambling, and have gambled at the casinos in NJ, Las Vegas, PA, as well as on cruise ships and in the Caribbean...and all those casinos were similar...but the ones I saw in 'Dam and Spain? Totally different.
Can anyone explain?

Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

Any legal casino here is owned by the state. They usually say Holland Casino or something.
