Re: How much do you spend on a trip to Amsterdam?
i live in holland and have a free scholar OV chip card.
So the travel is free for me , or in weekends 40% discount .
I usually just go for 1 day , and i normally bring about 100euros .
WIth a bag full of sandwiches and drinks .
I eat and drink for 10euros and buy a lil bit of weed .

Return airport taxi 7euro I take the buss!donpacino wrote:Hey there am sitting here bored at work thinking about my upcoming trip to amsterdam in august and it got me thinking about a chat i was having with one of my mates the other day on how much i have spent over the years and how much each trip costs me(alot more now I am married)
And i was wondering how much you guys would spend on an average trip over there including travel accomadation. My costs for this august will be:
Return airport taxi £100
Return flights for 2 £160 with easy jet.
Return train transfer to central station for 2 €15 approx
4 day tram pass for 2 €40
4 nights double room at hotel €240
€1200 spending money for the 4 days for food, weed, RLD etc.
So a full total of approx £1700 give or take a bit for exchange rates. When i told my mate this he nearly chocked on his spliff and passed out.lol. He reckons i spend silly amounts and go way over the top, i tried telling him how deer it was there and personally when i go away i dont like to worry about running out of money and i just wanna have a good time.
What do you guys spend on average trip? Do you think my amounts are silly or realistic in a city as expensive as amsterdam?
Return flights for 1 130euro with SAS.
Return train transfer to central station for 1 €10
3 day tram pass for 1 €20
2 nights at hotel 100euro
€1000 spending money for the 3 days for food and weed is more then good!
Total= 1267euro is very good I think I can do it whit only 767euro and still have a good time!
Peace

really? ive never seen a flight to holland for less than 100-ish with BA (london airports). Do us a favour and when these cheap BA flights are available put a post up on here for us.puffthemagicdragon wrote:Why do you guys all use Easy Jet or Ryanair? British Airways are much better and similar in price. I've actually got fares lower with them than Easy Jet. And you get free luggage and drinks on board.

Far too much! Amsterdam is like a huge pit, in which, I throw euros at an Alarming rate
....in 9 and a bit hours, I spent over 200euros!....I am not even gonna think about how much I spend in a 5+ day trip....
A two week trip would require crazy funds.

This one coming up will be:
£110 for return flights
£155 for 6 nights in MeetingPoint
It's my mate's turn to pay the taxi to the airport/train to Schiphol, so don't have that to worry about this time. Spending just depends what you've got - if I take plenty, I'll spend plenty. You can get by on not much at all if you need to though. Place is too easy to spend in!
