I was messing around on priceline and ended up with a five star hotel (Hotel Okura) with my bid for 100 quid a night. Has anyone stayed here before? It's a bit South of the center, but it's quite easy to get around Amsterdam with trams and whatnot.
Now, I'm just wondering if I overpaid? I wasn't quite sure what to bid, and seeing price ranges around the web had me at around 115 GBP for 3 star hotels in Amsterdam so I figured a 100 quid wasn't a bad bid, but now I'm unsure if I paid too much!
Any thoughts/comments? Would greatly appreciate it. Stayed in Amsterdam a few weeks ago at Hotel Inner which was pretty much a hostel at a bit less than what I'm paying now for this five star hotel so I figure I couldn't have gone that wrong? Hmm not too sure what to think, would appreciate any insight whatsoever.
Hotel Okura?
Re: Hotel Okura?
Well you paid for it, so you have to stay there, right?
I have been told that hotel is REALLY nice, so bravo. If you are into fancy dinners, the hotel restaurant is one of the best in town they say, but it will cost you more than your room.
Its in a lovely part of town also, near all the Coffeeshops in de Pijp. Not sure they feel about smoking.
Its Japanese-owned, so the service should be great. Enjoy!

i stayed here with my then-husband and our then-toddler...it was BEAUTIFUL...
only problem we had was my aunt getting stuck in the bathroom!!! they sent maintenance up quickly and she was out in no time...lmfao...
i remember pushing the baby stroller around during the day when her dad was working and coming upon Katsu pretty easily, but i couldn't go in...because i had my daughter...
(did go back later when she was with her dad...)

Stayed here a few years ago, after getting a deal myself, turned up baked as usual to find about three guys waiting to open the door for ya ,me in jeans with my holdall on my shoulder
,too posh for me,i just want a bed n shower but the missus loved it,marble bathroom, mint on the pillow, all that bollocks, being 14 floors up is weird in the dam but cracking view, one good thing, went out one day and left my stash on the desk, was a wee bit para but when we got back they had tidied the desk and put my half spliff back in a clean ashtray
.
