HELP ME WITH A WEEKS DAM HOLIDAY!

This is the situation. I'm going back to amsterdam on the 17th of august for a week, I'm staying for 2nights in amsterdam just off liedspein, going to the lowlands festival for 3days and then going back to amsterdam for a further 2days to top off the trip.

I just wanted a little bit of insight off the regulars as to where to stay during my final 2nights as I want to be in or around dam square!

Also I was wondering could anyone recommend some bud to take the festival and where to get them from?

You don't mention a budget nor what type of room you need. Have you looked at booking.com or easytobook.com to see what is available? You can then look at the Tripadvisor reviews to weed out some prospects. Post the list back here for further discussion.

As far as what weed to buy, are you looking for a high or stone? Have you looked at any of the recent trip reports for suggestions? You might also want to give the search a go and see of you can find any threads that might be useful.

my budget would probably be about £40-50 per night something along them lines. I have been on easytobook ye but im not sure what to do, my friend wants to just walk into a hotel when we get there and see how it goes whereas im not to sure about that, i dont know whether it would work out more expensive or what any ideas?

and i dont want to be wiped out in the festival, i dont want a cheese stoned in, so probably want some sativa dont i ha?!

Voyagers is in that price range and in a great location. You email them to make a reservation:

(You could always make the reservation, and then "walk into" it with your friend.) Also, they have great weed.

Other places I would stop: Basjoe's, Boerenjongen's, Club Media, Voyagers, Amnesia/Barneys

If you go that route, there are a few booking agents in town as well as the VVV offices at centraal station (out front). It's worked well for me in the past, never used them in high season though..
