It's always worth checking out the Bluebird, their black hash is often excellent, and it tends to be a friendly vibe. When I'm traveling solo, friendly quiet vibes tend to be what I look for. I also think that smaller places tend to work better when you're travelling alone. Coffeeshop Little (a few doors down from Mellow Yellow) is tiny, friendly, and the Little Special hash is very nice. Tweede Kamer is small (but not as small as Little), has a great vibe, and the same menu as Dampkring. I know you mentioned it above, but definitely try to spend time in Grey Area rather than just buy and fly. If you're alone, it's pretty easy to get a seat, and it's got a great atmosphere.

Have a great trip!

Yeah, Bluebird and Grey Area are two of my favorite smoke stops.

If the seat in front of the open window in the -cough- smoking room is available, that's hard to pass up. A great seat to people watch from, and to get some photos of the Zuiderkerk. Love to burn there.

Passing time in Grey Area can be fun, as long as you're out of the way. I like watching the passing couple...HE'S noticed GA and is longing to stop, but knows the oblivious SHE won't go for that. I can actually see the desire to stop and smoke in his eyes, and pity him. Have witnessed this many times and it never gets dull.
