ftcarer: It blows my mind that I pay for a plane ticket, fly into Amsterdam, and write about my pot experiences -- and someone who grows his/her own actually reads it. It's like Mendelssohn listening to Lady Gaga.

Fire Fly (Het Binnenhof, Zwolle, €10/0.7g) – According to the menu, Fire Fly is 70% Cinderella 99 and 30% Double Dutch. C99 has always been on my wish list, so ...

This is the kind of weed that makes you think, "Am I high?" most of the time and then "Um, what's going on here?" in passing moments. Like the moment you find yourself lost in a park, just minutes from the hotel. Or when you hear the squawk of a bird, only to realize it's the sound of the hotel's espresso maker.

I still can still visualize walking through that park. As I went down the trail amongst the trees, I was aware of the enhanced sense of perspective. It was like walking through a diorama, the trees closer to the path speeding by, the more distant trees glued to the backdrop.

It's got a high that sucks the noise out of the room and out of the mind. As I later sat listening to the wind in the hotel, the wind was all I heard and the only thing I thought about.

Good sativas are hard to come by. Fire Fly is one of them.

Great interlude quicky! (And you made Fire Fly sound really appealing. Love the name as well.)

Maui Kush (Het Binnenhof, Zwolle, €10/0.7g) - This weed is laughably strong. It takes a hold of your head. You are essentially pulled out of reality.

No one could not like this stuff. It takes control. You are put into a new world. Everything gets massaged.

(I'm not sure how the last sentence fits in, but it was in my notes.)

Black Widow (Bazar, Apeldoorn, €12/g) - A room in a hotel outside of Zwolle. David Attenborough on television: lemurs, iguanas, the world's smallest lizards having sex. Albert Heijn chocolate with hazelnuts. Black Widow.

The weed is strong. The effect is balanced. The stone isn't so much that it eclipses the grace of lemurs leaping reed to reed, but it's there with the high.

Lock the minibar.

Out of curiosity, how good is your Dutch?
Did you think you'd get rid of me that easily?
