I will also be in town from the 12-20th dec. I have managed to convince a friend to tag along for this trip now. Would still like to meetup with you guys if you guys are planning on doing day trips to wherever within the netherlands. I've been counting down the days to this very first trip :D

Sounds good - the more the merrier! Kind of early to plan anything too specific, but I think we're leaning on meeting up at Paradox for the first time. I'm thinking the earlier the better - maybe like Dec. 15 or 16 depending on when everyone plans on being there. I arrive on Thurs. Dec. 15 so I might be a little beat my first day so Fri. might work better. Not sure when friendlyedgar is going to Paris though? We'll figure it out! Getting closer with every passing day!

Most likely I am going to go to Paris on 12/14, getting back to 'dam around 2230 12/15. If weather or something prohibits that, then I would do it 12/21-22.

I think any museum people should plan to meet early on 12/16 for a wake 'n bake and we should hit a museum, maybe Van Gogh or Maritime, and then schedule a 4:20 TnT where non museum people can join us and we can plan day trips.

That sounds pretty good. I'd be in better shape on the 16th as opposed to the 15th! If people want to go to the Maritime museum, which is on my list, then something in that direction like De Overkant Hortus or Bluebird might work. Paradox is the other direction but I guess it doesn't really matter. We could always do a wake n' bake at some place like Paradox and then meet up later somewhere else.

Speaking of museums, I think I am going to buy the Holland Pass instead of the Museumkaart. I've already been to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum twice so I will probably skip those this time around. I do want to hit up the Artis Zoo, the Maritime Museum, Madame Tussauds wax museum, and possibly the Frans Hal museum in Haarlem. I think with the Holland Pass 5 you get 2 red, 2 blue, and one gree ticket - certain museums accept the red, some the red or blue, and smaller museums, the green. I know you can use the red for Artis Zoo and Madame Tussauds and those alone pay for the pass.

I'm getting pretty stoked. Wish December would come around already!!

Saw lovely Blue Cheese that smelled aces, just my trip was too short to smoke everything. 1.1g and 1.2g for 12E, pre-bagged but brought out to smell with no pressure on the sale. And nice nice buds.

Fresh juice, cool atmosphere, a little ways from the centrum without being a huge hike. Also, some people got what looked like fresh crepes. Those looked awesome.
I vote for bluebird!

Can't wait to meet all of you, be it Bluebird, Paradox or Basjoe... All nice shops. We just gotta convince (read: beg, bribe) USBL to hide some of that Spoon under a rock or something for us to find!

Btw, what the he'll are all those boxes in the foreground of pic 1?

That could work. We could always do Paradox another time. Dec. 16 is looking pretty good as I'm going to Switzerland on the 17th and 18th. I'd probably hit up the Artis Zoo after the Maritime Museum and then grub at Burgermeester before the 4:20 Tnt at Basjoe.

well said! i had plans out the wazoo last year and a lot of them fell by the wayside! but yeah, you can have a smoke whenever you want - shit you can smoke yourself into a stupor until you forget what hotel you're staying at or how to get there!

last year i went to rookies and after leaving there intended to go to mellow yellow which isn't very far. somehow i got turned around and ended up deep in de pijp...lol. took me about 2-3 hours to find my way back to hotel abba!!

I was going to stay at hotel abba again (it's the only place i've ever stayed in amsterdam...lol) but I decided to try something different this time so I'm staying at easyHotel in de Pijp on Ferdinand Bolstraat. It just opened in July I think - for about 50 euros a night I get a private room with my own bath and there's also an elevator. It's kind of a unique concept in that they charge for pretty much everything extra - 5 euros for 24 hours of TV, 7.50 euros for 24 hours of WiFi, 15 euros if you want your room cleaned during your stay, etc. Most of those things I can live without - Club Media coffeeshop is only a few blocks away and I think they have free internet there plus Bagels & Beans is also a few blocks away and I know they have internet there. This will give me a chance to check out de Pijp more this time around.
