OK, back at home and ready to upload some pics
and details.
So after reading so much about the De Pijp area
from others on this board I decided to explore it.
Took a hotel in the Zuid section,
5 minutes walk from De Graal -
This CS is right on Albert Cuyp Straat a few minutes
from the market and 2 minutes from the Zuid section.
Also very close to the museum area.
A few meters down from there is a nice cafe/bar that
was very busy the nights I walked by - perfect place to
see people and have a beer.
Inside, De Graal is very big with a bar, downstairs
and upstairs area...the pic here is the upstairs area
that is very open and airy and has a pool table.
(the internet access is there too)
Had the Vernaze here - a very potent and pleasant Haze at
11 EU a G. Very nice smoke.
As mentioned - the market is very close and
after you walk into it -
you get past the smell of herring....
and see great stalls and shops...
Not too far from there you hook a right
and when you get to this area -
you are very close to Katsu - this is a small shop
and I had some Orange there - must have
been the tightest bud I have ever
taken apart - very good smoke too.
Again - the area is hopping with bars and cafes -
a great local scene
So that is my brief review of the De Pijp area -
I will definitely return to this part of Dam.
Also - getting to Schipol from that area
(or even from the Leidseplein area)
is very convenient - take the 5 tram to Zuid/WTC
and there is a train every few minutes to Schipol..
a 7 minute ride!
Other CS's I visited - Central - went there for my first time -
liked it a lot and had a G of White Wido for 5.5 EU.
Nes - was there every evening/night...Dave was a lot of fun -
one night he had me laughing so hard from his stories....
Had the Hashplant Haze and the Stella Blue - fantastic smoke.
Amnesia - tried the Honey B - amazing Haze and also had some HP13...good but not as good as last time I had it.
Since I had a lot of time this visit also went to Rijksmuseum
(nice Rembrandt exhibition/review) and the Van Gogh...
incredible Japan Meiji Art collection in addition
to the Van G's on premise.
All in all - another great Amsterdam time was had.
