I’m first up, showered and dressed and sat on the bed wondering what to do while T & B get ready… obviously my pause for thought lasted milliseconds… I unload my pockets and decide to mix up the final remains of the Hash Plant Haze (Nes), the Sour Diesel (Basjoe) and the Nevilles Haze (De Kuil)… I do all this beside the TV in the room… not sure if this was a good move or not but I did have a major intension to anililate myself from the word “go”… I achived my goal and very early on with a crammed full pipe of all 3 weeds… before 9.30am we are heading for the breakfast of kings.
I find it all a touch amusing; loading my plate with bacon, scrambled eggs and tomatoes… I feel so happy while dishing up the bacon I start offering it out and before I know it I’ve got me a queue forming, I should have started charging…
I sit to eat my feed, coffee flows along with OJ’s… and after a second visit I’m good to go.
We put our bags in the hotel store before heading out with the intention of having a mid morning smoke at Amnesia… I’ve been to Amnesia before and liked the feel, I picked up some playing cards at Luton and Amnesia was the ideal place to kick back and enjoy our Saturday… unfortunately, like the complete stoner I admit to being, we wasted a good 1 hour and 30 mins “trying” to find Amnesia… Without an ACD map and working from the map on the back of a Boom Chicago magazine we find Grey Area and I know we are close.. we end up walking the wrong way and eventually give up as time is short… with T & B on their virgin visit I decide to hit De Dampkring.
Finally we arrive (no idea on time) at De Dampkring… it’s busy (as expected) and we squeeze into the corner to the far left (window seats/stools)… I need weed… I remember the good times I had on the NYCD last March but overcome the desire for a repeat episode and give it to the dealer to make my mind up … the Amnesia Haze or the “new Haze” (CRS – for the life of me I cant remember what it was… don’t matter as the dealer said with a why even consider anything other than the Amnesia Hzae look on his face “the Amnesia Haze – every time”… I informed him that I was off in a matter of hours so would a .5g deal be possible… now having asked this a Basjoe and been refused, I was pleased to be told “of course – no problem”… it all adds to the good times.
I also pick up another Haze mixed pre-roll for dad (T)… we get comfy and blaze up in our little corner…
I hit the pipe with half of my 0.5g… deal… and with a vodka & coke from B I reload and blaze up again
Now, I smashed… I am where I wanna be, and I don’t mean geographically… *wink*
After drinks and chat and general chilling out ( why we came)… we eventually decide on heading to see the crew at Nes before collecting our bags and heading home…
We get to Nes and have time to relax before our homeward journey…
Dave (as promised) gave me a nice pure breakfast joint… rolled nicely to give a even and good burn… the Pot of Gold was a mellowing heady high… nice, very nice. I’m not a joint smoker but hey, I’ll make an exception…
I check the internet while T & B sit in the front of house seats… Jess caters for our needs, but by this time we were pretty much sorted and filled with smoke, food and drinks…
and a decision is made to grab a Maccy D’s whilst heading down Damrak to the station… It’s all a bit blurry but as I stand to say my goodbye’s to Dave and Jess a favourite song of mine comes on… (Coldplay – Trouble)
I actually feel sad, very sad… but my time has come and we need to leave.
We depart with a promise to return (maybe sooner than expected)… we eat, we walk and soon we are on thetrain… it’s all too easy, we fly, we are collected and before I know it I sat at home grinning about the last day and a bit of my life.
It’s kinda surreal but that’s Amsterdam
