Now I know overall no coffeeshop is really bad, they all sell what we love and thats all we really need. But I personally think that a lot factors make a difference to a coffeeshop and whether I am going to go there again. So far, I have gone to 40 different coffeeshops and some of them I have gone to more than once. The greenhouse lounge is by far one of my favourites.
To be honest there are quite a few out of the 40 that I have seen that would I would coonsider for my list but these are the 3 I am going to mention.
The Grasshopper 2
Best Friends II
Prix D'ami
You can see my site and full list here.
Grasshopper tops this list purely for the reason of how rude someone can be to a customer! I personally felt like I was inconveniencing them for being there and that my money was taken for granted to some extent. The entertainment and atmosphere provided was nearly none and the weed was so marked up it brought me close to walking out.
Best Friends II was so quiet I could probably go there to write a book. The two staff looked bored as they sat in the back and watched T.V. Although it meets our needs I would certainly not recommend staying at this coffeeshop unless there are some other customers.
Prix D'ami, I'll be honest I went there in 2010 so they could of changed it around a little. What I personally saw was a run down large coffeeshop which was very drab and disgusting. Another to miss unless you are short for choice or time.

nice site you have there, really like the layout and looks nice
i really like the detail on how you work out the ratings not just a simple 'like' or 'not like'. just had a browse though your results and im surpised by a few of them, but thats what personal opinions all about i guess.
im not gonna get into which are the worst, as i allways remember something boner said years ago, along the lines of "even if 'la canna' which everyone hates opened up on my high street here in englad i'd be very happy".

Re: Your 3 Least Favourite Coffeeshops
I can't list three least favorite shops because at the moment I don't have any.
Reasons for a C/S to be on my shit list:
There is only one reason why a shop would be on my shit list - ripping off the customer. Several ways to accomplish said violation is by selling adulterated gear (haven't had any in Amsterdam, yet), adulterated scales (higher than actual wt.), and selling gear consistently wet or under-flushed. If one or more employee's of a C/S are douches but their gear is good, I may buy but I won't stay.
Happiness is a coffeeshop in my neighborhood...

My No.1 Least Favourite Coffeeshop
Hey Guys - Please everyone avoid the Grasshopper like it is a 'PLAGUE'.
We had just had a 10 hour trip driving from London to Dam to show some friends the place for the first time...
We had some nice coffee shops near our hostel but as we needed cash from a cash machine before visiting any coffee shops we went to the nearest ATM across the road from the Grasshopper.
After which the guys wanted to go to check out the nearest coffee shop we could get to... Unfortunatley this happened to be the grasshopper....
We went inside and the place had NO Atmosphere!!! The guy behind the counter was extremly rude and the gear was heavily overpriced...
Never the less we bought some and went for the first try... We just wanted a smoke after the long journey before settling in and buying some coffees....
We had to wait for a seat as there were 5 of us... When a seat finally became free we sat down and bought a drink of water...
Non of the locals around us had drinks on there tables and we had just bought some very expensive gear...
Upon this the guy behind the counter burst in a demanded threateningly that we all needed to buy overpriced drinks or leave slamming his hand on the table (like an evil Crackhead!!!)...
We couldnt be asked with such stupid uncool behaviour and up and left for some cooler places....
So the moral of the story... If you know somewhere is likely to be crap, overpriced and non friendly, don't go there No matter how long or hard a journey you've had!!!
PLEASE AVOID THE GRASSHOPPER AT ALL COSTS!!!

Re: Your 3 Least Favourite Coffeeshops
Although not on my fav list prix d'ami is hardly run down these days, its all shiny silver and pink these days, looks like a 16 year old girls / katie price's idea of a nightclub! not my cup of tea but at least they are making the effort to improve their business, and the perception of what a coffee shop should be like, certain other shops should really take note. And their gear, although neither cheap or top drawer aint bad either.Mr Oranje wrote:Prix D'ami, I'll be honest I went there in 2010 so they could of changed it around a little. Boner and CSS are right we'd all be happy to have even the worst coffeeshop on our high st and too much negativity going on, we all have likes and dislikes!
Agree 100% bout grasshopper 2, its just a tourist trap pub that only sells weed becuz it can, but doesnt care bout the ins and outs of weed, or the customer 4 that matter.
Like your site mate, keep up the good work
If in doubt, have a spliff
