EC Meters..
Re: EC Meters..
are you sure you need one?
If you are using out the bottle nutes (and can follow instructions), in coco or soil you'll be fine without. In my opinion they are only needed if you are mixing up ur own shit or growing hydro....

Re: EC Meters..
^^ Agreed a PH meter yeah but as Bigs says unless yer doing hydro ? And I'm thinking £20 may not be enough for a decent one ? The bluelab truncheon thing comes highly recommended
Lol in fact is cf meter is the same as ec ? (Bluelab is a nutrient (cf) truncheon)

cheers guys..
Re: EC Meters..
ec/cf is the only true scale,
ec stands for electrical conductivity,
it works by sending out a small electrical signal into the solution,
because water is not actually a very good conductor of electricity, its only the minerals within it that are,
it calculates the strength of the solution by seeing how much of the current it sent out, comes back.
tds and ppm are calculated directly from ec, however depending on which company makes them it could be 500x 640x or 700x the ec level.

Essential for use with chemical fertilizers especially when your using extras on top of your base nutrient, takes you to another level of control over your plants, you can also get your nute levels pretty spot on as yer tap water will already get the little beast flashing without nutes.
IMHO makes it easier, had my truncheon years, the only thing i never sold off but it was freebie from the wholesalers back when they was £39 a pop.
Dont bother with organics though, virtually useless, add any organic boosters when you have your setting for your chemmys correct.
Soz boner had to have a post
