Awesome report. I just read all 17 pages. I read this site everyday but rarely post. Just wanted to give thanks for the great report. The insight about your personal relationship with James really made this report extra special. i wish I had made it to Basjoes during my past trips.

The anecdote about water made me laugh out loud.Living in the Alps fr 20 yrs, I never buy or drink bottled water, always straight frm the tap, and that often turns into a "What the f*** is that" when I travel to any 'lowland' area  you never know what you got till it's gone!!!!
Unfortunately I missed the era of Henfshops here. When I first moved here though, there was an Afghan tea shop where you could still "ask to see the box" which had 3 grades of hash in 50 and 100 CHF bags, you just picked whatever you wanted out of the box, left the cash, and then passed it back over to the owner. Unfortunately the hash wasn't very good and they got shut down a bit after I moved here.

I always almost stop drinking water for a few days when I leave here without even realizing it because I can't stand the taste. Eventually thirst overcomes, but it takes awhile. Are you still in the Alps?

Super! I'm looking forward to meeting you.

I'm glad you liked the America mix! "Dance Monkey" is one of my favorite songs ever. Thanks for de-lurking for the nice words- I appreciate it. :)

The G13/Pollem joint was the 5th joint rolled at Paradox, which was our third smoking stop that day. I remember for sure that there was a lovely joint of G13 someone rolled, a joint of Amnesia Haze from Siberie, and two joints of Paradox's Chocolope rolling around.

Ya'll can smoke! I learned so much, and got to try so many cool things this weekend. Thanks again. :D :D

First of all it was a pleasure to meet the gang..as for the lightweight comment. it is not that we were lightweights it was that you are one of the biggest partiers i have ever met( i say that with a sense of awe and reverence). if you remember i think hasj and gapie ,also, fell before the mighty smoking prowess of you and 2rollingstoned. beaten by the girls . i admit it. man you guys can smoke. thanks for the drinks you bought us. i owe you one. next time i am there i will go to basjoes and make sure to leave a credit with your name on it. again ,truly a pleasure to meet you all.

I certainly wasn't smoking everything that was passed around, a lot of weed was smoked. Before we left Voyagers we must have smoked a quarter sitting on the bench. The girls did smoke everything that was passed to them and I remember goading you into smoking the flat spliff Gapie made, but you have to admit that was a damn fine joint :) The girls smoked everything in sight

Hi Hasj and Piedpiper! You guys are brining back great memories from that crawl! That was a fun day- and we sure did smoke it up! I've been jotting down my (slightly fractured) memories from that day and I will post that story next.

I think you're right about that quarter at Voyagers while we were all outside at the picnic table. That scene was utter maddness. I remember not once, but twice that I had lit joints in both hands when the hash pipe came around to me, and having 2rolling hold and light the pipe for me as it passed so that I wouldn't have to miss it. :D  :D That's what I call an amsterdam problem!

While waiting to hear back from my husband, I prepared the ground cheese on the paper and then once again surveyed the small cache of hash I had with me. Since James had me feeling so good, I decided to stick with his gear and pulled out the chunk of Basjoe’s Pollem hash.

I lifted it to my nose, savoring the aroma of lemon blossoms and sandalwood. I broke off about a quarter of the gram, savoring the way it softly yielded to pressure, like moist brown sugar. I could resist smelling it again and this time detected a nutty lactic undertone like brown butter.

Leo Jr came in and greeted me with a soft hello just as I finished rolling my joint. Should I have another coffee and joint? Why haven’t I heard back from my husband? A jolt of panic shot through me. I had checked who I was texting, right? Not just opened the message window and fired away like I usually do? My husband is the only person I normally text with… But yesterday, I had been texting Marco, as he tried to join us on our crawl. Crap, what did I write? Who did I write it to? I reached for my phone feeling embarrassed and apprehensive.

Silly stoner...

Sure enough, when I re-opened my text window, there was Marco’s number at the top. Ooops! Thank goodness I hadn’t been smoking Amnesia Haze as the message was totally innocent. I sent him an apology, and re-directed the intended message to my husband, hearing quickly back from him that he was happily writing away and enjoying the joints I had left him. (Pot of Gold from Club Media, Buddha Cheese from 1e Hulp, and G-13 Haze from Amnesia)

Basjoe's Cheese

My face was still burning as I picked up my lighter. The rich funky oily flavor of the cheese filled my mouth as my shoulders instantly began to relax. I rolled the smoke around in my mouth where I could detect a brown butter and clove and cardamom flavor from the hash. I took a few more puffs on the joint feeling the energetic and mentally active effects of the hash play nicely with the stoniness of the cheese.

After a few minutes I realized that I was going to need some sugar in me if I was going to keep up the smoking, so I stopped by the bar and had a brief chat with Leo Jr, ordering up a latte and a fresh-squeezed orange juice before I to a detour to the ladies room. When I came out, who was at the bar, but Gapie!

He and I exchanged hugs, and I invited him to join me. We shared the cheese and pollem hash while Gapie rolled some grey berry from Grey Area and mentioned that Bleak was on his way. The more I smoked the pollem the better I liked it, as it was silky smooth with a really friendly high. I found it energetic and chatty and was glad that I had someone to share it with.

De Graal's Flower Hash

We smoked the grey berry next, and it was lovely with a sweet ripe berry flavor and a skunky undercurrent. Grey Area had fallen off my must visit list after I had a few trips in a row where the weed didn’t measure up, but Gapie was going a long way to convince me to give them another shot. I passed him the sack of cheese and a chunk of De Graal’s flower hash and enjoyed having my next joint rolled for me.

I picked up the rest of the flower hash and found that it had clean minty slightly floral smell, and was not very pliable, although after some effort and a touch with the lighter Gapie seemed to be making progress forming a sausage.

Bleak turned up before we knew it, and we shared the Cheese and Flower joint. Consensus was that the flower was only good, not great. The soaring stoney effect was pleasant but it wasn’t the strongest and produced a little bit of harshness in the back of the throat. These minor flaws seemed a lot more serious at the time because was finding truly excellent gear this trip.

Before I knew it, my phone was buzzing with a text from my husband, letting me know he’d be done in about a half hour. That would be just enough time to tram back across town and hit the grocery store for ice cream sundae fixings. Yum! I was too stoned to feel even a twinge of regret over my untouched list of errands, and so I said my farewells to Bleak and Gapie, and headed over to the bar to settle up with James, and grab a few more grams of that royal Moroccan hash that had been so tasty.

One of the regulars was sitting at the bar, observing our interaction, and after I gave James his big farewell hug, the guy said, “Gosh James, I think she might just like you a little.”

I laughed, “James knows that if I wasn’t so happily married he would totally have his hands full with me.” Both guys chucked as I started to leave, but I paused to add, “It’s a shame that my husband is so young and healthy, isn’t it?”

I could hear James still laughing as I floated out the door.
